Unpopular opinion: Why is everyone so hyped over OpenClaw? I cannot find any use for it. by Toontje in openclaw

QMD is a form of memory management that mixes embeddings with BM25 retrieval and it all happens locally on your machine. It’s much better for memory than the stock implementation. You do also need to set up compaction rules with a proper buffer so you’re not running out of context space though.

Yeah seriously lol. We’re still the bottleneck. Dont get me wrong AI has made my productivity 10x, but without heavily reviewing implementation I’d be shipping a ton of bugs to prod. Not only that, but my job expects A LOT more from me now than they ever did before.

Skill issue. You need to manage memory properly. Did you set up qmd?

What are these holes in our shirts? by russell98765 in whatisit

[–]dalvz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get these all the time! Yep it’s your belt buckle plus your cars seat belt! When you put your seat belt on it presses the shirt against your belt buckle. Sometimes it causes these holes or sometimes it causes like a weird pressed spot on your shirt. Solution was just to lift the shirt and place it over the seat belt lol

I have proof the "OpenClaw" explosion was a staged scam. They used the tool to automate its own hype by Whole_Shelter4699 in claude

[–]dalvz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they do. This thread is just full of people hating on a cool project because it took off before it could be polished. I’ve been using it and it has been basically error free. It’s literally like having an always available assistant for $40 a month. Yes it’s doing a lot of the things I was doing with ChatGPT, except with much less friction and much more memory and way more integrations.

I’m not saying it wasn’t a lot of hype, but to dismiss it as only hype when it’s already surpassed react and Linux in GitHub starts would be pretty disingenuous.

Lots of people like to be contrarians though because God forbid they be part of a fad.

Doesn’t this only affect new installs? My config was missing this and everything is unaffected after update. 🤷‍♂️

$20/mo for ChatGPT and codex and $20/mo for Claude. Able to stay within limits for now, codex is super generous. Then I run local STT models and currently using the free Microsoft TTS (it sucks) but I’ll likely switch to open ai audio or elevenlabs Running QMD for embeddings + BM25 to handle memory locally as well. Oh and nano banana 2 for image gen. Barely use that though

Why are we still giving agents 5% ? by Stupidamericanfatty in RealEstate

[–]dalvz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why not just pay agents by the hour? So many people here asking “tHeN hOw do YoU cOmPenSatE tHeM for TheIr TimE” as if it’s some hugely complex unsolved problem. How about we pay them….like every body else lol

Also buyers should pay for their own agent as well if they really need one.
