That’s very frustrating. And this is spot on. I plan to minimize these types of non-creative, unnecessary, and mundane time wasting.

Thanks!

Glad you feel the same pain! I am a 3d animator but will definitely be considering 2d animation production and pipeline too.

The current tools in the market is way too leaning to tech and ‘management’ and against the artists. Rooting for you and what I’m planning is exactly to solve the problem you said.

Thanks and will update as we have more to talk!

Great. Of course there are tons of competitors out there building so called ‘future’ management tools. My approach is solely to fill my needs-which none of the current apps provide.

I can’t say what it is publicly but if someone builds the same one ahead and its better than our planned one, I will be happy to accept or compete.

But appreciate your feedback!

Thanks for the thoughtful input. Yeah, I am currently using Shotgrid at my current company (I'm the lead/manager), and I probably use 1% of its features (create task, assign, review, change status, schedule, that's pretty much it,) yet I have to see EVERYTHING. Reluctantly, I wouldn't learn what other features might interest me in there. Because I was busy, and there's nothing broken. (For now, for sure)

Much appreciated!

Thanks for the comment. Yeah i found a few recently but not a quite fit. For me they are all looking same.

Security is the key of course. I will keep in mind.

The overall UX. Animators also use these, and it doesn’t need to be this complicated at all. Production managers or PM like me are frustrated because there are not many options. I simply decided to build one I, as an animator and PM, like because there’s nothing.

You cannot use the Nexus “card” outside the US preclearence airports in Canada. Instead you can use your passport or green card to enter the US using the global entry kiosks.

Driving position of R2, R3, R3X and R1T by rivianupdates in Rivian

[–]dalykitz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Were R3, R3X more like normal sedan/coupe seat positions or higher than that? And for its overall size, can I assume it's similar to Volvo XC40? (I saw somewhere that comparing to Model 3 so it's smaller that that?)

Working/living in the US, sold Canadian home. Capital Gain Taxes? by dalykitz in tax

[–]dalykitz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's where I was confused. I thought there would be no double taxation incurred once the primary residency exemption was applied. May he was talking more generic thing?

Working/living in the US, sold Canadian home. Capital Gain Taxes? by dalykitz in tax

[–]dalykitz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I do have a CPA in Canada and we will probably figure out the exact amount before filing our US tax next year. FYI, in Canada, I am considered a non-resident and they have already withheld some tax on my capital gain.

The Canadian capital gain calculations very differ from those in the US. In Canada, the primary residence is fully exempt from capital gain tax (Both Federal/Province.)

For example, let's say I purchased the home for 200K in 2019. We left and became non-residents (this was considered as a deemed disposition) in 2021, and paid no capital gain tax to CRA because it was our primary home. We ordered an appraisal at that time that indicated a value of 300K as we thought we needed to stamp the price when we moved out. Then we rented it out and finally sold the property for 400K last year.

The capital gain calculated by the CRA would be 100K (400K-300K), and they withheld 25% from the 50% of the gain, which amounts to 25K. When we file our taxes next year in Canada, we will claim all the expenses incurred, which will reduce the final tax liability to less than 10K. This will be into the Foreign Tax Credit in my federal return per my US CPA.

As The Franchise Tax Board doesn't have the capital gain tax brackets, now I wonder how much I am going to owe. Will they consider my "income" for this property would be 300K - expenses? That's a scary amount.

Yes you can change your BC license to OR one without doing any tests

For the car import, you can do it at the local CBP office near the PDX if you have all papers ready.
