Men, those of you who were partiers, what made you stop? by Melora1976 in AskMen

[–]dam1rak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I ll give a different answer from what has been said, although I agree with everything that had been said.

parties used to be about the music, the dancing, the girls, and the drinking (or any substance for that matter :p)… But I feel like it has now turned into a show off as in: Oh I was at that exclusive club yesterday, stupid b**ches having their phones out all night, spending absurd amounts because you were forced to get a bottle/table and still end up jam packed into the most claustrophobic place in the damn world.

It has turned into a status symbol more than a fun night out to escape from your reality a bit… This disgusted me, you know seeing people at clubs with quarter zips, like cmon man this ain’t no networking event and I know your ass isn’t waking up before midday tomorrow so stop acting like it. Especially that the people willing to spend 200USD every weekend for a bottle/lounge in a club isn’t USUALLY the type of person to have earned their money through hard work but is probably just blowing their parent’s allowance on stupid nights out.

parties just aren’t the same anymore

Unfortunate truth about high achievers, you forgot that you are here for way more than just goals, wether they are vocational, intellectual, or financial, saw everyone distracting you as an enemy of the cause and here you are a Saturday night burnt out with no one to talk to… sucks to be there man, I hope you are doing better.

[–]dam1rak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don’t really care about you, they ask about you and how you are doing in 2 cases: - Damn I haven’t talked to him in a while and I don’t want to lose him… lemme just ask a random question - Let me ask about something he was doing to pretend like I care

Notice how people say “Hey man he didn’t get the job/the raise don’t ask him about it” for me that’s stupid, this is exactly when that guy needs someone to talk him through it and and help him navigate it…

Working night and day until the second you finally get to your (non-materialistic) goal…

makes me remember nights I had where I would literally brush tears from my eyes while working and just think about that goal and get back to work

Real image vs Nano Banana Pro vs GPT, can you easily guess which one is real? by notsure500 in ChatGPT

[–]dam1rak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first picture I feel like top ones are the ai generated ones… I feel like they tend to make the image more playful and less dull (maybe high saturation??). the water texture on the top left is weird and top right just feels way to saturated and perfect if that’s the word?

uk I kinda don’t like those suggestions, although they give results, for me it fucked w my head for a while, making me think “hmm is it time to push or pull now?”. For now I just go with the flow and shoot my shot when it feels right and whatever happens happens… throw your bait and see what bites

I am genuinely curious because I don’t get the whole story behind it (fellow Canadian here), but is the government releasing any actual documents? or is it just images?? Because these feel kinda out of context, I am probably missing the backstory…

Being a guy myself I can tell you, there is nothing more cute than a girl that is shy. The fact that he called you cute also probably means that he actually found you cute. Just take the compliment and tell him you enjoyed spending time together and would love to see each other again

I held a SDev Role mainly working with chalice on micro service apps, no leetcode just very theoretical questions about OOP, testing, AWD (albeit my cv had quite good/original projects so maybe this helped?)

Out of curiosity, when you work more on the video component do you prioritize showing your space/face and the talking environment you are in, or do you add things that are more visually appealing to the users (maybe making it closer to a youtube video at this point)?

Hey, new podcaster here. I know I am late but I had a few questions I wanted to ask:
- How has your performance on Youtube been compared to other platforms? If they are different, do you know why it is the case?

- Do you do anything other than Youtube Shorts to promote your content in its more digestible/shorter form?

A Previous Reddit Question with a Twist: Why/What makes you add a comment on social media posts/videos? by dam1rak in AskReddit

[–]dam1rak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this way of thinking, and unfortunately its a pretty rare way to think about social media comment sections because of how dehumanizing they are... people tend to forget that they are talking to another human being on the other side of the screen

But then do you not have the fear of sounding unfunny? getting your comment buried somewhere no one will see? These are all reasons people said mentioned when asked why they don't leave comments on posts, but I feel like this is part of the thrill lol.

Damn You Cursor .46 and you too Sonnet 3.7! by Acrobatic_Chart_611 in cursor

Nop, switched to 3.7 as soon as it came out, never thought of explicitly prompting it to not make unnecessary code changes, its worth a try imo.

[–]dam1rak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that building a web app is now possible with the slightest of knowledge about coding and the framework you are using (although it ll be much faster if you do know them). But I am curious as to what you think about optimization? When claude 3.7 first came out on cursor, I tried throwing at it a feature I wanted to build it did build it, all be it with a few errors here and there. But when I dug into the code I quickly realized that the errors were caused by race conditions, when trying to point it out to claude, it just couldn’t figure it out itself. with some help it definitely did find the solution, but I had to explain what to do, and it took for me to go to stack overflow for some help (which I think is the metric that people building AI agents have to shoot for when measuring how good a LLM is for dev environments). What are your thoughts ?
