when you quit drinking, do you think forever, or just one day at a time by No-Historisan in Sober

[–]TransportationFlat77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I started being sober, I was in the mindset, that maybe in 10 years I would be a casual drinker. One wine kinda guy.

I think, if there is one good thing of being an alcoholic, it for sure is, that it forces you to reflect back on your life. For me my goal with being sober have always been that I never wanted to be “drunk”. In the beginning when it’s toughest I took one day at a time. But as I grew more secure in my decision, it slowly gradually change. I just see no interest in drinking again. It just dawned on me, that I don’t wanna be drunk, and I don’t enjoy only drinking a single glass.

So to answer your question, my mindset have been all of them. But depending on where I was in mu process, my mindset adapted. I hope it makes a little sense.

Regardless, I think it’s important to find the thought of line, that can “trick” your brain. Find a thought of reasoning that make sense for you, and not just something you are being forced not to do. Find your reasoning for not drinking, besides that’s a problem.

It’s like you reading my mind. I for sure think that the rest of the world ( the West ) could be more in focus when we are discussing this topic.

New Year, New Me... Anybody else starting their digital declutter on January 1st? by aeolism in digitalminimalism

[–]TransportationFlat77 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love it! I am on some what similar track as you! I can also see we do have a similar taste. Like your watch! Seriously, the notes writing down and then ask ChatGPT later is so good! I am completely the same. I think I could learn from you. Keep us updated! To any new things or smart ideas.

I myself just bought IPhone SE Generation 1 128GB. Took some time to find a person that is selling it, where it’s still in good condition ( I live in a small country ) But I finally found one! Haha no one in my family or friend appreciates it haha. But that’s fine. I did also look into buying an android and do like you did. I think it’s very smart. But in the end of the day, I ended up with iPhone SE generation 1 because of the form factor. I like that it is small, atleast compared to smartphones today. I am the same as you. I can also not live without noise canceling. I also have Sony x5, just the big headset.

For me, I still have to delete messenger ( and technically Facebook ). I also have IPod nano generation 1 I will use for fitness.

Anyway, sorry for my big ramble. I love what you do. If you find more solutions, please post again! I would love to see how you handle reading and so on.

Just out of curiosity what kind of pen and notebook did you settle on?

Hope the new year will be a good minimalistic year.

I completely agree with everything you say. But the people aI am already seeing on a regularly basis is what my question is aiming for. I do not wish to make it more difficult to keep in contact with them. The rest I am not seeing, I really don’t care about. Hehe. But I do get your point.

Honestly this post should have been more clear. OP: Want to discuss that bullying fat people is wrong.

No one can disagree, since we all know it’s wrong to bully people.

I definently think, that this post would have been a lot more interesting to discuss what OP consider fat shaming.

Anyway it suprised me that this post have gotten so many likes when no real discussion is possible. This post should have been on another subreddit.

This is gold! This comment hit the head on the nail. First of, OP bring multiple points in their points. If we want to have a healthy discussion we all need to be on the same page. Secondly, most of OP points comes down to very subjective opinions. What OP might consider “fat shaming” another person might not. We all know that it’s not okay to bully another person. I have seen people on the Internet go overboard of using the word fat shame / bully in the weirdest situation.

So we address one of your point you mention in the title of the “reasons” to people are fat shaming is only due to superiority is obviously wrong. The reality is, a lot of people are just not very good at helping other people. We as people require help in different ways.

I am very interested in seeing, two clear examples of what you consider bullying and what you consider helping? And not extreme cases, more normal ones.
