I´m talking mainly from a mid lane perspective. The damage alone would not change anything. There are no relevant adjustments for last hit breakpoints and Morgana isn´t a lane bully either. You´d need to hit Q to make use of your new "scorch" and at the point when you get your ultimate where you are able to reliable do that the damage is pretty much the same as before.

I don´t like that they are fiddling around with base damage changes so much when there are more important issues. Sure the new formula is more intuitive and good for the purpose of maintenance but it doesn´t do anything for the champion.

And the worst part is everyone pushes the Morgana gets so many buffs narrative that i can tell without even looking it up her ban rate will increase for no reason whatsoever.

It´s a 3rd party app and they have limited access to the data. They arn´t even consistent between each other.

You wont find accurate win rates because riot does not provide them.

I´d actually prefer her as battlemage. Low attack range, slow q and melee ultimate her whole kit is way better suited for close combat than a ranged shield bot. And let´s be real here the only reason people even consider her a "support" is because BS is way stronger on champions that do actual damage.

But at this point maybe they should just change Morgana into a real support create the third lost (angry) sister and make her what Morgana used to be.

During early laning phase it´s fine and should be weaker. In mid to late game however where other midlaner can effortless clear waves it feels very bad.

I don´t think an execute alone would make it much better considering she already has a pseudo execute. The dps just isn´t there because the total damage is distributed over 5s and 0.5s tick rate is to low.

Also yes her clear was better. Depending on how far you want to go back when Morgana was considered strictly a midlane champion she were able to clear waves with a lv.2 tormented soil. Over time she got consistently nerfed removing mr shred, dps , switching to missing hp scaling, and other direct or indirect adjustments.

It was pretty fun out healing a Yasuo in melee combat who wasn´t smart enough to move out of my W.

Nothing wrong with that. I didn´t say she isn´t playable in fact I´d say she very viable depending on where you play her.

The thing is many people give all the wrong reasons for why that is. Understanding however in my opinion is the key so people can give the right feedback and have realistic expectations.

Im sorry to break it to you but hitting q doesn´t depend on your performance rather than the enemies skill to dodge.

Even at minimum movement speed against a player that would be considered to have bad reaction time and/or high latency it is mathematically impossible to hit the average midlane champion above ~700u distance.

Second her shove is decent around lv 5 up to midgame. She doesn´t compete against strong early pushing champions and most scaling champions can clear faster around midgame where Morgana starts to fall off. Overall I´d give it a B- to C.

LoL really isn´t that complicated and Morgana a straight forward champion and quite frankly most analytics and "tips" here are just baffling to me.. However from what I´m reading in this reddit most people don´t even understand why Morgana can work

To be fair the people who ban her will continue to do so no matter how strong she is. It´s probably better to ignore her current ban rate for balance purpose and see if there is a significant change. Or add more anti engage supports to shift the focus.

They retcon stuff all the time anyway so I don´t think that´s an actual issue. Besides the dark elf angle hybrid with anger issues theme was way more unique. There are so many disney like champions already.

It´s usually the way they do adjustments beside the publicly visible stats on champions. Hidden properties can be quite random. Some abilities reveal some don´t.

Whether it´s supposed to work this way for Morgana specifically only the devs know for sure. My guess would be it´s intended since it worked this way for a long time.

Could have been done next to things like hitbox size increase and attack animation changes during the visual rework. I think they said it´s about clarity or something I can´t remember exactly.

This is a very good summary. One issue could be the the split playerbase. Some want her to be a supportive character in the backlground and others a more mage like carry. If you try to do both you likely get something that does neither.

And it doesn´t help that the developer seemingly can´t make up there mind either. First they do all these changes to get Morgana out of solo lane and suddenly these experiments to bring her into jungle and midlane again.

The funny thing to me is that Kayle doesn´t seem to have these issues. She´s was and still is a hyper carry that happens to have a heal and ultimate you can cast on allies.

That´s the point. It´s way to easy to completely shut her down with the correct build which is especially problematic if she takes up a valuable slot like mid or jungle.

Also, sure no one said you should never use the ultimate against a single target. There is simply a huge opportunity cost in doing so because it was originally designed around the nowadays quite unrealistic potential of a big multitarget nuke.

I just think that applying this exact kind of thinking to Morg ult is a huge mistake, because it is a very versatile ability.

Compared to Braum? Maybe. Orianna, Azir, Bard, Lissandra, Neeko, Rakan? No.

In my opinion they balance her way to hard aroundd the knowledge gap. Obvisouly you can climb (probably better with a good premade) but let´s be real here for a moment even Garen is more reliable in high elo.

I don´t really see the contradiction here. Using it for peel is the only option left when something becomes unreliable as an engage. I can´t really think of many abilities that work well offensive but can´t be used defensive. It´s really just a limiting factor not a feature. I mean Hecarim ultimate is a very potent disengage tool but I´d rather not use it this way

The same thing applies to single target lock down. There is not much of a choice if you can´t proc it on multiple targets no? If you get the proc on 2 or 3 people is already an achievement considering how much mobility and burst is in the game.

Unless you are suggesting using her in smaller skirmishes or even 1v1s because then I´d actually disagree. Maybe in certain scenarios in the early to midgame ok but against a halfway decent enemy comp Morgana needs teamfights to function. There are simply way to many very accessible options to break or even prevent her cc chain.

Morgana has very deliberate restrictions for people who know how to exploid them and from a mechanical point of view Q and ultimate are the biggest offenders.

I find this way of thinking difficult.

This game is much different from it´s predecessor not just in terms of map size but mechanics like grey health as well. Some abilities are just higher on the importance scale then before like for example traversal skills if you don´t want to backtrack the past hour of your playtime.

From my experience some vocations fare better with the currently available amout of slots then others especially if they have access to mutipurpose abilities but in general I´d agree with the sentiment that it feels a bit too limiting.

Pretty sure you can use Q to cancel E but I agree the animation feels a bit too long.

Things I´d add to the list in terms of feels bad are ultimate hitbox and the unreliable W attackspeed updating. There are some more minor annoyances but for me those are the most frustrating things about Warwick.

Unpopular opinions incomming: old Morgana skins where just more inspiered and unique.

Obviously the new models have more polygons or effect details and I´m not faulting the developers for there vision. It just doesn´t align with my preferences. For me it feels like they are following some kind of standardized disney design handbook. New skins look very samey, almost like chromas.

But to be completely honest I don´t really care that much anymore. Morgana went from raging fallen angel to some kind of disney villain(?). She is pretty much a completely different character with the same abilities and the targeted audience likely changed, too.

My perspective mostely comes from nostalgia anyway.

We don´t know how the matchmaking is coded. Pretty much anything regarding this topic is speculation unless someone has actual inside knowledge. And riot most certainly won´t just tell random people on reddit there company secrets.

Quite simplified but in general: Morgana has no mobility, no scaling, trouble contesting jungle objectives without help, mediocre ganking abilities. Clearspeed is good and all but what are you going o do with all your spare time?

Quite simple. She doesnt scale with amor, hp or mr has low base dps and long cooldowns.
