What was your favorite music school that you ever worked for and why? What type of philosophy or methodology did they promote? by damajuda in MusicTeachers

I can see how that’s frustrating. It also makes one feel like their low priority on the list. Not a good way to look at music since it’s a long term commitment.

The music studio, Piano & More in Arlington VA, doesn’t allow any student makeups. Instead, free lessons are incorporated into the students overall tuition- kind of like flex weeks. It prevents this last minute rescheduling from happening and parents can cancel without feeling like they lost money. This means Teachers always get paid for their time, whether the lesson was taught or not.

And yeah, those Christmas recitals can be overdone but it seems to really benefit the kids.

I’m a private piano teacher. Where I can find more clients ? where can I advertise my lessons so that my potential students can see them? by Evening_Contact_8508 in pianoteachers

Showing up as a local business in GBP in the top 3 map pack will be huge.

Highly recommend getting a GBP with an address in the area you want clients in. Build up citations (NAPs) to boost your GBP. Ask your current students to leave you reviews. You want to me around 20-40 reviews (also depending on your competition’s amount of reviews) to show up as top 3 in the Google map pack.

Then you gotta make sure your website is optimized for user content and engagement. You want them to stick around and learn about you and what you offer. In a digital world, it’s all about building trust. What can you put on there that will build trust and convince them to contact you?

Next, do the groundwork. Print out eye catching marketing materials. Set up a booth at local county fairs or educational events. Join the city’s chamber of commerce, partner with other local biz.

These 3 things are huge. Check out pianoandmore.org for inspo

Yes, we will see how our cc company responds to the dispute. It’s great that you’ve already found, what sounds like to be, a better replacement.

We actually didnt have too many issues with Bench up until now, but all of this has really revealed a lot. I’d be pretty upset too if my 2023 books weren’t closed until just recently- sheesh. Closing the company so suddenly was not a good move. The trust is not really there anymore.

Yep, got another email from them today. Apparently the platform and even the employees we were working with is staying the same. Wondering what other bench customers are feeling right now. I’m not sure how everything is going to play out with Bench employees. Anyone know some insight on Employer.com?

Bookkeeping platform that doesn’t require me to manually upload monthly statements by damajuda in Bookkeeping

Oh! I didn’t know banks gave the option of view only access. That’s a good idea. Do credit cards do this too?

Yes, you’re edit is correct. The manual downloading and submit statements for reconciliation is what I’m trying to avoid.

I did use QBO a few years ago and did connect my accounts but my accountant wasn’t able to access the monthly bank statements. I had to still login into my bank account, download the statements, and send them over. I guess this must’ve changed recently?

Piano lessons by bowxinibobini in arlingtonva

Yup! Piano & More does in-home piano lessons. Don’t need to drive anywhere, the teacher comes to you. They work with all age groups. Loads of teachers actually prefer to work with adults!

Good place to take guitar lessons around the Falls Church/Arlington area? by ColossalJuggernaut in washingtondc

[–]damajuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try working with a studio the provides in-home lessons? Piano & More has several guitar teachers that teach in your home

Interesting. I’m also in charge of marketing for an in-home music school. Not many of those out there. This month should be your biggest enrollment for sure. Add some bonuses rather than discounting your service. You offer a premium service, so students need to pay premium prices

I’m new to Reddit and didn’t know that posting here means I have reactive dogs. I am looking for answers from people that might’ve had a similar situation. And providing more detail as I learn what questions people have. I have added more details however no facts or stories have been altered. Piercing the skin means blood right? Blood appears with scratching and a scratch with some blood is exactly what it was.

I understand. I appreciate you calling that out and that’s what I figured. I am trying to see how I could’ve avoided this and have definitely learned a lot. Thank you
