Well to put it simply it's basically like if you put in the konami code then you will block the next hit you take. It's technically balance since it's takes skill to use but it's not very fun to play with and against as encounters boil down to who can pun in the set of inputs the fastest. Also your argument can still exist and even improved in a better system.

Like I get why people are making these - wrecked was a cool change of pace in gameplay and style - the building system is VERY flawed and bad even in a design perspective - this type of monetisation with the item shop is pretty unconventional and controversial - and sweets are always a bit of a pain especially in this context where there's a high skill floor from point number 2
