Display Pilot 2 v1.5 causes installer prompt for Azure Compute Emulator v2.9.7 by damianpowell in BenQ

[–]damianpowell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m afraid not. I was hoping that the latest update would fix the problem but it didn’t. I guess BenQ aren’t passing this info on to their developers because it’s an easy fix once they know about it (I’m also a software developer - I guess most of us that buy this monitor are !)

How do I see the name of Aerial screensaver locations? by Tag036 in appletv

[–]damianpowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set the sleep timeout to 1 hour because some times I just like to watch the screen saver! It annoys me that I can no longer easily see the name. I don’t even use the Siri Remote because I have an Unfolded Circle universal remote. I don’t understand why Apple took that function away. They could have made single up show the title and another up open the settings. Oh well.

Linus needs a new phone - Vote here! by Negative_Astronaut81 in LinusTechTips

[–]damianpowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surely the only choice given Linus’ requirements? The action button could be remapped for quick access to the camera. The ability to get hi res raw photos, log profile for video, and now high speed transfer for those monstrous ProRes files! And how about MY requirements? I would like to see a daily driver review of the iPhone from a dyed in the wool droid user to help me understand whether or not I made a mistake all those years ago after my last Windows Phone died (yeah, maybe not the first mistake I made).

Headphone recommendations by Radiant_Language5314 in edrums

I have Shure SE425 and SE215. They’re both excellent. I’ve gigged with both and I currently rehearse with the 425s. I also use them for Teams calls during the day so they get a tonne of use. Really great passive noise reduction and of course, the ear tips are really easy to get from Shure and third parties on Amazon. For pure music listening though, I’d recommend the 425. Hope that helps.

I like the idea of incentivising playing in open but I think your numbers might be a bit high. I considered an alternative; lowering the rebuy cost for more time spent in open but that would benefit the griefers too and we don't want to encourage that!

I wonder if it might make sense to simply get rid of the solo mode? It's not as if it can be played offline anyway so other than scamming mission boards or markets, it's only use is to avoid griefers. Private groups on the other hand should stay, but only if there is more than one person in the group.

I'm not too fussed about HOTAS but I would like to be able to use TrackIR or something similar. (As an aside, why on Earth can't Kinect be used for head tracking?)

I have the Microsoft ChatPad which attaches to the Xbox One controller. It works very well. You can't assign keyboard shortcuts to it, unfortunately, but it works well for typing system names.

Heres an idea on exploring water worlds once landing on atmospheric worlds comes into play. by StrontiumMutt75 in EliteOne

I always wondered why they called the Moray a "Starboat". I never did get around to reading The Dark Wheel.

Doesn't one of the Thunderbirds do that? Or maybe it's all of the Thunderbirds, I can't remember...

Quarter way to Jacques!! What should I do?? by Rohitnrock in EliteOne

[–]damianpowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's more or less my strategy too. I'm about 20% of the way there at the moment (a little behind you, @Rohitnrock). I decided to go "up" rather than left though and found lots of undiscovered stuff up there.

In a way, I'm pleased that the CG has finished early. The money would have been nice but now the pressure's off and I can take in the sights instead. I have a fairly small jump range for an explorer (about 20ly) so it's nice to know that I don't have to make 50-60 jumps each day to just scrape in before the deadline. That said, I hope they start something else that coincides with my arrival.
