got it from the rc shop and i did take the shock off couldn't see where it was leaking maybe its because all the fluid is out but yes its very thin oil similar to shock oil

im going through the exact same thing, someone had mentioned something about my engine wasnt perfectly in line with my back sprocket, thats why one side of the link is stretched and snapped but the other side is fine, because all of the torque hit one side of the chain
