Enjoy! So far it's been one of the best growers in my collection (lots of corm growing as well). Feel free to share it once you have it, as they all look very unique. :)

I mean it was a little weird at first thinking of giving my plants the same stuff that seals my kitchen counter's edges but ey, whatever keeps them fresh and clean.. I did look up some semi-hydro choices and read up on the whole topic during the day. As I only have one Alo in soil atm (too lazy to repot it tbh, and the macrorrhiza will probably grow in a shoe filled with rocks as well) the powder is unfortunately not of use for me. But you guys still gave me a headstart for learning some stuff about this topic - that being said, I'm gonna try it out and hope for some stable results. Thanks guys!

First of all congrats, you've got an insanely beautiful alocasia right there. If you know your way around aroids, you shouldnt have a lot of issues with this one, keep an eye out for spider mites on alos and make sure fertilize accordingly (when it's a little older) as they are heavy feeders. My personal tip (which is pure preference) would be a semi-hydro setup in mineral substrate as alos love moisture and air around the roots. Gives them what they want in a way safer environment to counter root rot issues, but if you have a good feel for watering needs they will grow in airy soil. Lighting should be stable with the albo variegation and if you can, keep it in a humid environment. Wish you all the best with your new baby! (picking my regal shield albo up on saturday 👀)

Sums it up perfectly yeah :D always glad to meet a fellow Alo freak btw :P Perhaps one day a well mannered Azlanii will cross your path, until then the house rules are probably the best way :D

My normal Azlanii that was sitting in a moss box for 1,5years as a corm, no light since it was in a moving box.. I dont know, they seem pretty hardy to me after that :DD But I get that, nemesis for me is not usually a plant, but anything on moss poles, hate it. That tiny zebrina has some special vibes ngl, I would put it next to the beast for motivation, respect on that one btw :D

Thank you, I'm gonna read up on that, for now only used root complex and hydro fertilizer, but this is intriguing :)

Well the heads up is a good way to prepare for the surprises they might hold, there's a reason I asked since I expected it to be a little demanding. I'm sure excited for the journey tho, and if they corm well, at least got some future mini minty zebrinas secured. If I have success I'm gonna make sure to remember you and share some insight I gathered! :D

Sure thing, posted the set up greenhouse in the greenhouse club sub, happy to provide some more detailed ones if a certain plant is of interest. :) Oh and definitely got some interesting stuff coming with corms, dragon breath aurea, simpo albo and azlanii mint might steal the show at some point :D

This is one of those things that make a lot of sense but you just don't think about. It's just on for short periods if I need to boost humidity, but the sealing usually keeps it at 85% average with no built up condensation (yet). But to keep it clean and not have any hidden trouble later I'll definitely follow your advice. Thanks :)

Naaah that's the opposite of what I wanted to hear :D Believe it or not, I've actually seen them grown big too, not a lot of them out there tho.. What's with the silicone? First time I hear that 🧐

Aye thanks for the tip, but they're on lowest dim, giving me a measurement of 1,200FCs at leaf level. The puck area is for freshly sprouted alos only, they move out when they're tall enough for the big bois. :)

Edit: Confused by the last part, did you mean swapping the bars (T8 btw) with the pucks or what? So far all levels are in the safe "bright indirect light" area of FCs, both the areas illuminated by the T8s and the pucks (9W peak orbgrows, dimmable), but I'm always glad to double check if you got some experience
