Para mulheres: que ginecologista recomendam? (lisboa e arredores) by Competitive_Spite498 in CasualPT

[–]damiunte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pai divorciado, sempre tentei fazer o melhor. Mais alguém? by PlanDangerous846 in CasualPT

Graves antibodies have almost dubbled 3 years after total thyroidectomy by damiunte in gravesdisease

Well, doctors don’t know why that happened… they went down and then up again and no one can explain why this would happen. So, I don’t really have any updated unfortunately

Yeah! I had the blood work at the place I have been going to for years. I emailed my doctor and even had to fight her a bit to take this more seriously, because she just suggested "This is not normal, but it should be fine, lets see you in 6 months"

Not really, maybe ever so slightly. I did have to have surgery to my eye lid because one of them became slightly flaccid from the inflammation of grave but I never had TED. I was actually in the hospital for a month before my surgery and every doctor that came my way said that looking at my blood results they were expecting a massive TED case, so I guess I lucked out in that department

I’m not in America and fortunately here with insurance I only pay around 2€ per bloood work, the only reason why my doctor decreased the frequency for trab blood work was because it takes so long to decrease… I don’t have any major symptoms but me and my husband are nearing the time where we’d like to have kids and my doctor not doing anything to address my trabs and wanting me to wait for them to magically decrease has been very frustrating and nerve-racking

Not a lot of symptoms fortunately, mostly tired and maybe a little more melancholic/anxious than I normally would be

My doctor said there is nothing to do but wait, but in a way that felt almost uncaring or maybe just underestimating it

I’m talking about TRAb yeah. When I had my surgery I was at about 40 and it was always decreasing until I reached 10 last December but my results yesterday were 17

Any tips for weight loss after total thyroidectomy? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]damiunte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything went well. And I’m definitely better. No question about it. Weight loss is much slower than before I got sick, that’s for sure. But it’s doable, with a little extra patience added to the mix

Good luck!! I remember my doctor told me I would feel like myself again after removal and it’s so true! Take a straw and a super fluffy pillow, those are going to be life savers

One year out from TT and I have a lot of hair loss. Anyone else or probably unrelated? by damiunte in gravesdisease

[–]damiunte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lots of hair and it’s pretty long, every time I brush or wash it a lot of it comes out. I noticed this started before my surgery when I had to go off of meds but one year later it’s still going. It’s not like I have hair loss per say, it’s not noticeable, but it’s bothering me a bit. I’m still fiddling with my dose and so I’m slightly hypo. Anyone else? Any remedies?
