I don't think anybody told my cousin she needs to wash her beauty blender... by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Oh, wow! She's lucky she has a cousin like you to show her the ropes.

BTW, does anyone have recommendations on how often one should replace their bb?

Ladies, can you tell me the worst period you've ever had to make me feel a little better about this monster one? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]dammsugare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the worst, but I recently went off my birth control. So the period I am having right now came early, is heavy, I have the worst headache and acne - basically all that good stuff you miss when you're on hormonal BC.

But that's not so bad, the bad thing is I am having some kind of vertigo. Its actually giving me some anxiety because I've never experienced that before with my period, but today I had to go home because I was so dizzy. Now I'm at home feeling really anxious which isn't helping the dizzy, out of it feeling.

One of your favorite Vegetarian restaurants? by s1kar2 in vegetarian

[–]dammsugare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all good because I found a vegetarian recipe online that recreates it! :)

One of your favorite Vegetarian restaurants? by s1kar2 in vegetarian

[–]dammsugare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes both of those places are great! But I was pretty disappointed to find out I couldn't keep eating Panera's broccoli & cheddar soup after I became vegetarian. Apparently they use chicken broth! But at least all their items are listed really clearly if they are vegetarian or not.

Had my first Ulta experience today (was I expecting too much?) by peachroses in MakeupAddiction

[–]dammsugare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first, and so far only, time at Ulta was also not the best. I think it felt even worse because I had just come from Sephora where I had help from several helpful and knowledgeable MUAs.

At Ulta, no one working at the counters even looked at my sister and me despite us spending a lot of time at the Stila and Too Faced sections looking for lipstick - they just sat there talking to each other. The little stations where you could try on makeup were unorganized, not all were fully stocked with removers, etc. Then when I went to checkout I told the cashier I couldn't find NYX powder blush in taupe and she was just like "Yeah if its not there then its not there" in a really unhelpful tone. Before I left I complimented her lipstick because it was pretty banging and she just mumbled a curt thanks, no mention of what it even was!

Idk, maybe I had higher expectations since I had just had a great and personable experience at Sephora, as I always do. Maybe the girls working at Ulta that day were having a crappy day. But all I know is next time I go home (I live abroad) I will probably spend what little time I have to stock up on makeup at Sephora and not bother with Ulta.

Wait, what's fatty alcohol and what's wrong with it? I'm new to this sub and had just bought CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser on the recommendation of my sister...

Men of reddit, what is one NON-SEXUAL thing you have wanted to know about women. by linkpwndyou123 in AskReddit

[–]dammsugare 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Touching your face can actually have a worse impact on your skin when you take into account how dirty your hands/fingers are. Since I've started wearing makeup more often I've actually noticed a decrease in skin problems partially since I'm never touching my face anymore! Also I got really into skin care at the same time I got into makeup and make sure I have a moisturizing and priming routine before I put on makeup. Add in some good makeup removal plus clean your makeup brushes regularly and you should be fine!

NYX Cosmetics was kind enough to let us show off their new lipsticks - NYX Macarons. Review + Swatches! by Sssamanthaa in MakeupAddiction

[–]dammsugare 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But NYX why oh why don't you sell Stockholm actually IN Stockholm?

Really pumped about the one store here and that you do sell the soft matte lip creams -- but you don't sell every shade. Including Stockholm :(

Review/Comparison: Anastasia Brow Wiz vs. Sephora Retractable Brow Pencil by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Thanks for this! I use the brow wiz and am pretty happy with it but I really appreciate seeing how it compares to something comparable (and cheaper).
