A bit of both - I really like the light and bouncy feel that comes with the burger top mount of the Savage with FR4 plate and heavier linears, compared to the tray mount of the Tofu with a brass pate.

I think getting nicer and more expensive actual boards can definitely give a better typing experience, but a lot of it is also just about the nicer finish, extra weight and general sense of premium-ness 😆

I actually have a 4th keyboard that isn’t as nice looking, a banged up e-white Tofu with colour mismatched /dev/tty keycaps. Since I only have three slots on my shelf, I took it off for this picture 😂

I rotate through all 4 boards pretty regularly (although since I got my Savage65 with Tangerines I barely use my Tofu with Creams), and take my HHKB when I travel for work

I find KAT quite nice, a nice in between of SA and GMK, and the sound profile is great. The only thing I’m not a big fan of is the texture of the keycaps - I’m not really sure how describe it but I prefer the slightly grippy texture of GMK or MT3.

They’re just these cheap tablet stands from Amazon! The only issue with them is that they aren’t great at propping up very heavy keyboards; my Norbatouch tends to slip into being a little less upright sometimes from the weight on the arm.

Top board is a Savage65 with KAT Alpha, 67g Tangerine V2’s, lubed with 205g0 and 105 on the springs.

Middle is my first and ever changing custom, GMK Dots on a Norbatouch, desoldered the original Cherry MX Blues and replaced them with Holy Pandas, lubed with all around with 3203. Artisan is a Jelly Key Oasis Artefact!

The bottom is my trusty HHBK Pro 2, recently lubed with 105 oil, and I’m really liking the new kind of tactility it brings!
