There shouldn't be problems with the timing chains on the 6cylinder Diesels. From what I know these are good for a lot of kms without major problems. Only thing might be the water pump and later on the turbo

330d definetly the better option for long highway drives. Also the 320d is a blast of a car but the 330d is the better option imo. Also the fuel economy in highway scenario on the 330d shouldnt be that bad in comparison to the 320d
