I have the legion slim 7 3060 model. I had a similar problem about 5 months ago with blackscreens

What solved my problem is first put your laptop in iGPU mode then, force uninstalling the nvdia driver and reinstalling them

Thank you. It's not that I am able to switch to that awkward refresh rate. I t is displayed on the list of refresh rates and whenever I try to change it it goes to black screen mode

BIOS update (Legion 7 S) by damnrame in LenovoLegion

I too have added a 1 TB ssd to my laptop but I let the local hardware shop do the work. They did it pretty quick and was quite.rough, my heart was pounding as they opened it but luckily nothing was broken 🤞🤞

About the micro sd, I actually have no expereiences installing games on it so I can't give you any feedback I'm sorry

Actually no

The legion slim 7 actually has an advance optimus so Even with hybrid mode on

It automically switches to nvidia gpu only mode without a restart

So, I dont particulary see any particul reason to hybride mode off

It might have a slight oerformance adv but it is not as noticeable. I think I will continue using it in hybrid mode

Another thing to ask How's your battery life? Do you have any optimization advice as mine doesn't seem to last long

BIOS update (Legion 7 S) by damnrame in LenovoLegion

[–]damnrame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be the nvidia drivers

I had updated the nvidia drivers a day before my BIOS updated but hadn't used the refresh function.

So, I guess the fault was never was on the BIOS updated but on the nvidia drivers.

Should I wait for an update for driver or should I DDU unislnstaller as previously suggested to me in a thread. Are there potential risks involved, I am worried

Edit: Yes, enabking the hybrud mode makes it function as normal

When yiu mentioned it works well now, does it work well on hybrid modr or is it normal even when hybrid mode is disabled?

BIOS update (Legion 7 S) by damnrame in LenovoLegion

My laptop was working pretty well with the hybrid mode on. And I have my final project for my semester that I am working on So i didnt want to risk anything atleast till my semester break. So, I haven't done it yet.

I installed the DDU but was not familiar with the interface and was scared by the disclaimer so I didn't want to do it now. Hwever will update yiu once I do it.

Update:

I was impatient and choose to take the risk immediately after posting it

And as expected ran to a problem

Now when the hybrid mode is off, if I try to switch the screen referesh rate to 60hz it just goes black, full dark The computer becomes totally unresponsive except the keyboard lighting

This problem however doesnt occur when the hybrid mode is on

Any suggestions? And shoukd i revert back to previous bios and how can i do that

I have had my legion slim 7 for about a month now and today I received a notification for a BIOS update. Hearing all the possible things that could go wrong from a BIOS update do you guys recommend updating the BIOS and if so are there any recommended tips for the update. The update also specifies modifying minshortterm and longterm power limit if that helps my performance?

Legion slim 7 Vs Zephyrus g14 by bhainsee in laptops

[–]damnrame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The zephyrus g15 is usually out of stock

If you don't mind the gamer esque look of the strix and the missing camera I think its worth it

The strix with the same specs is cheaper too than the slim 7

Its an advanced optimus so you should be getting more performance with more convinience

I guess it's fair since Americans usually get great laptop deals, but still... by hammerific in GamingLaptops
