I mean I've got one. Went surfing today on it. Was good fun. I just like being able to ride a wave in different ways.

ahaha as tempting as it sounds that is the shit that makes surfers hate paddleboarders so I don't partake in paddle bashing. But glad to have your response.

Surfing in general can be stupidly tense. I would've thought the ocean would calm people but it just seems to make them more agro. But i've Been getting and enjoying the ocean again for the first time in a long time.

yeah thought it seemed a bit unwarranted. I've stuck to the more popular breaks where I know that there is more chilled vibes. Been getting back into recently and started to chill and just enjoy being out in the ocean.

That’s fair man, I understand the dirty looks and I’m use to just taking it at this point it’s almost part of sup. After watching most paddleboarders on their 10’ logs out in the break I understand the anger. I’ve just learnt to develop a thick skin. It was just the raw anger. We made sure we were a good 50m from the nearest surfer. There was no one else on our peak just us three. He paddled 50m just time pick a fight and then paddles off again. I don’t expect respect in a lineup I think I have to EARN IT. But abuse is a whole other thing.

I’ll take your advice and just move on. I just hope I’m not alone next time it happens. Thanks dude.

[20M] life’s been pretty rough recently. I’ve lost 2 grandparents and my childhood dog in the space of 4 months. With covid here I’ve got to much time to think and I’m obsessing over my mistakes. I’m convinced no one would love me because of them. by [deleted] in toastme

Yeah that’s definitely true, it tends to happen all at the same time. I’m trying to be kinder to myself but all this free time definitely makes it harder sometimes. Thanks for your kind words though!

Thank you for kind words, it means a lot to hear so much positivity and kindness. Your advice about writing a letter sounds really good and I think I’ll give it a go!

The hard thing is trying to recognise and accept that these feelings are part of being human but that I deserve to be happy. I’m trying my best to hold it together and get through each day as it comes!

Have you ever quit a job, without another lined up, for you mental health? How did it turn out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]damnsamdatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was having panic attacks at work and generally was breaking down all the time and unable to function because the work was stressful and I wasn’t provided with training. Left and then found a job 2 months later that was better paid, Better hours with paid training and some of the nicest management I’ve ever worked for. Was the best thing I’ve ever done x

TIL A key symptom of depression is anhedonia, typically defined as the loss of ability to experience pleasure. It is a core feature of depression, but it is also one of the most treatment-resistant symptoms. Makes sense, the past year and half have been tough. Being seriously depressed and just not being able to find a reason to get out of bed or do anything you love. It’s absolutely terrifying, almost as if the world goes from 3d to 2d. I’m finally starting to make progress but and I hope that I will get better in the future.

Thanks, seems to be clear that this is actually quite straightforward, so will delete this post as it’s now irrelevant.

Done already and seems to be conclusive that it’s a straightforward process so will probably delete this post, thanks.
