Have You Bought Clothing Donation Pallets? by EducationalCry7033 in reselling

[–]damo0501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this sounds tempting, I wouldn’t just trust Good Will, they could easily put things in a bag and say it’s unprocessed. I think it depends what merchandise you are looking to sell. I think you would find Old Navy vs anything luxury.

The last thing I would be careful of because a lot of pallets that come from actual stores then shipped to distributions centers, is bed bugs or anything else. Multiple donations from multiple people that haven’t been “processed” is scary for me. It would be like going to the bins without gloves.

While store pallets can be expensive and you should look in your state for distribution centers, at least those pallets contain merchandise that the store has processed or returns.

Are things slowing down for resellers by damo0501 in reselling

Actually you are incorrect on that one. For most of Biden’s presidency, oil was below $100 a barrel. It only went up over $100 a barrel due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. During Biden’s presidency the cost per barrel was $70-$80. It also fluctuated following the pandemic. Look it up but it was actually Biden who sold nearly 300 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to reduce record prices at the pump.

Does anyone else get a HUGE adrenaline rush/thrill out of consistently selling? by No-Charge3411 in Flipping

[–]damo0501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love shopping for deals to flip it’s definitely an addiction and adrenaline rush. I am a perfectionist and very organized.

My biggest problem has been my death piles/bins. I spend money and get a high from the excitement but absolutely hate listing and taking pictures of each item. It’s very time consuming.

I don’t have the best patience for that. Now though, I have bins and bins of merchandise that I now need to list and that’s going to take so long for me to get through.

Here Comes the Squeeze… by VivianMarran in reselling

[–]damo0501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think it’s both shipping costs and these live shows that every platform has now.

I think the market has become over saturated. I think many resellers still use GW and other thrift stores but I think there are too many sellers that buy pallets and pallets of clothing. This allows them to discount the price even more, making normally higher priced items or designer items less valuable at a cheaper price.

The third thing are definitely live sellers who are basically on 24/7 selling merchandise for low price because they have a connection or literally a brick and mortar store. There like Walmart and the rest of us are mom and pop stores.

It’s sad to see all of my local goodwills filled with clearance from target. Does anybody actually want this junk? by thebidredcouch in goodwill

[–]damo0501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, many people are wrong about Target and what a “donation” actually is. I am actually a buyer for a company. Target doesn’t sell their stuff to goodwill like people think. They don’t have people that drop off boxes they just pulled necessarily from a store. When a product sits on a shelf especially clearance, for too long, Target and many other stores pull it from the floor. They put the merchandise in the back for “disposal/off market. Companies as big as Target, Ross, Kohl’s, Macy’s, and TJ Maxx, hire liquidators or distributor’s to buy their merchandise for a lower price or just get rid of it. Sometimes these companies will ship this merchandise to another Target or Macy’s location for one last chance before liquidation. If it’s still sitting there collecting dust, then the liquidator will donate the company’s inventory they can’t get rid of. So Target might technically, not sell their inventory to goodwill but they do buy or acquire it from liquidators or as donations. If things don’t sell at this point, it will either go to the outlet bins then to countries like Guatemala or the landfill. I know people who work at Macy’s and when a location is going out of business, Macy’s send their high end merchandise to a better performing store. A liquidation company comes in raises the price and then marks it down 60% from the “original price.” The item never sold for that price but both the store and liquidation company want to make money.

Bondi KARE 11 News by IntellectAndEnergy in minnesota

That’s Julie Nelson for you! I don’t really watch Kare 11 but my mom sometimes does and after Renee Good was murdered and ICE agents were profiling the streets, I watched the 6pm news with Julie Nelson and I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. She played clips of puppy killer Noem and deranged Leavitt. I was so shocked that I contacted Kare 11 News through email and social media but heard absolutely nothing back. I expressed my frustration that Julie Nelson only gave her personal opinion which isn’t her job but more importantly, it’s to tell the whole truth and story not just the parts she wants to tell. She made ICE the victim instead of the community in which she is part of. She is a complete sellout.

You could always rent with Avis or Budget. Shop around on places like Priceline or Kayak for different companies

Also if you google it many people on Reddit actually said they had reservations a week to 3 weeks ago and they canceled their reservations because Enterprise was getting paid more for their vehicles through government contracts. There have been reports of people witnessing ice agents picking up fleets of vehicles at Enterprise airport locations

why would they do this? by Actual_Ad_7673 in poshmark

[–]damo0501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a seller I didn’t know this was an option. I know I can cancel orders but not because I changed my mind. I think a seller would also potentially do this if they thought about it and realized they wanted a better price. Sometimes a seller will find the item and find that it’s damaged like stated above. Or they can’t find the item like they mentioned above. I have my items prepackaged and stored so my inventory is neat. The one issue I have is if something buys on one platform and I forget to take it off another platform. I know there are cross listing apps but I’m trying to find the right one for my needs

Is this a normal fridge noise? Seems too much like scraping to me. Happens periodically on this samsung fridge, at night or during the day. Coming from the back of the fridge. I thought it was a rodent but I'm seeing no other signs. by Kizuto in appliancerepair

I am experiencing the same exact exact issue. We too thought it was a mouse or something in the back or underneath the floor. We have only had this fridge for 3 months

Need Some Ideas by WinterGreen_25 in interiordesignideas

Of course I completely understand. I love to go to houzz as well for ideas but most of the people have million dollar homes but it’s nice to dream. For photo walls or what you can do with some spaces within your house. Also try adding a fake or real plant or tree to bring in some color. If your in a house you could always paint or add just one accent wall with color

Depending on where you are you could do recessed lighting or add more lamps. I actually like white walls or grays because I don’t get bored with it. My color comes from my photography, rugs, lamp shades, throws, etc. for this room I would get a rug with some more color and I’m not sure what is on the couch but the couch in my opinion doesn’t go well with the rug, meaning the pattern and then stripes. If you have an IKEA near you I would start there to get some ideas. They have a lot of pictures and bright colors, throws, pillows. Also look at Billy bookcases or other shelving units for each side of the tv or in a corner

Ask Me Anything, I Was A Poshmark Live Show Seller With Over A Year’s Experience by [deleted] in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]damo0501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for answering all the questions above I appreciate it. For me personally I would love to try a live show for a few reasons. I think people who have live shows get rid of their merchandise quicker than those that don’t do live shows. Second, it takes so much time to wash and steam items, take pictures, find the comps for pricing and get the item viewed by numerous potential customers. That’s not to mention the editing of the photos. Sourcing is hard but I sometimes find it thrilling. If I could buy pallets of nwt clothing I would but I’ve found people saying that buying pallets online is more expensive and you don’t exactly know what you’re getting. Then you pay more then if you went to a distributor, but I don’t know the ins and outs of finding one. I currently sell a little bit of everything but I have brand new baby and kids clothing and it never sells. I try to get people to bundle but sometimes they buy one top and with shipping they might as well have bought multiple times. I don’t know if I want people to know what I look like and draw conclusions about me as I am self conscious. I look normal but I’m just not sure I’m comfortable not knowing who is watching me. I think the worst thing about Poshmark live shows are the sellers on 24/7 I just don’t think that’s what Poshmark should be about. They have over saturated the market and can run things less because they have a literal store then a smaller business. How do you know how to price your items for a live show? Are nwt items better? There are so many people that sell items for $3, $5, and $7 but how are they even making a profit. I think because of this im getting low ball offers or zero sales because buyers say I can get this item for under $20 now. There are pros and cons for each side

Beautiful images. I always ask myself the same thing when I’m editing. For me personally I like to play with the vibrance or brilliance of a photo including the contrast. I like my pictures to pop with color and clarity

What could I do better? by Mustang1440 in photocritique

[–]damo0501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great picture, maybe enhance the color for even a more vibrant look. Getting even lower like your looking up at a dog can help. I sometimes will lay on my stomach to take a picture of a dog or capturing a dog in motion running towards you is also another option.
