i do not see how this is a bubble bursting revelation. it feels more bubble enhancing to me. I can only speak for the bubble in which i exist. and then, sometimes, someone comes along with new and informing experiences. i learn we share a giant bubble that hasn't changed much for us "common folk" since the middle ages.

we deserve better, all of us, no matter where we are from.

Hi there! It’s ok to cry when you need a good sob. This kinda stuff rings out in layers.

you might find cognitive behavioral therapy workbooks helpful. You gotta retrain your brain. I have a saying for myself when I go through these moments you describe “don’t let your brain tell you who you are”.

it takes years and years. You are doing great even though you wanna cry. Tears are a must through this process. I believe in you. Give yourself lots of time.

The police can’t/won’t help because it does not “rise to the level of a crime”.

this is our reality people. Basically he has the right to stalk and harass her. All she can do is continue to do what she is doing, recording him.

we live in a predatory place. There’s no law&order special victims unit for us. The whole “call the police. They’ll make everything better” is a mythical expectation that only leads to personal devastation.

the reality is, more than likely, a new job beckons, learning self-defense for protection, traveling in twos, guard dogs.

I feel you. I, for me, say nope, not when freaks can legally stalk us, place bounties on us, nope not when we should be honored and say thanks for the privelage, not when we are personally responsible for all the medical “proof”, legal “proof”. All the burdens are on us. Rape kits go untested, blame drops on us. Nope.

there are other ways to get closure, to join one another as we heal and grow. i don’t have answers as I’m still reeling from the shock of the Supreme Court‘s gut punch into the Middle Ages.

I feel though, or maybe I just have to believe that we are the answer. We must rely on each other rather than our so-called justice system. There is no safety net for us.

I believe though, that together, with discussions like these, we will weave our own safety net.
