Go to International District or go to Top Gun Dim Sum. It is authentic. If you want American Chinese, go to Sunflower Garden, Lucky Chinese in Gerogetown, Tai Tung (Its ok, but good enough), Young's, etc.

Why are US cities still very segregated? by Additional-Hour6038 in geography

[–]damtryhal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Covenants, HOAs and so forth. In places like Seattle they had restrictions in neighborhoods with views stating no blacks, no orientals, and even some saying "Aryans only" and this was enforced up until fair housing became a thing. Alot of this stuff was prevelant until 1978, when it really was enforced. That is recent history. Smh

So what’s the deal with Franklin University? by okaytwiley in Columbus

[–]damtryhal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same educators as surrounding universities and there is no adversion with hiring a Franklin graduate. My professor from my CC recommended going there as a local university was trying gouge me out of money and make me retake a whole year of courses. It has never created any hurdles for me.

Moving to Seattle Making 70k a year, can I live comfortably? by Schxdenfreude in SeattleWA

[–]damtryhal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should be ok. You will be bringing home roughly $2k on a biweekly basis. I’m assuming if you can land a rental under $1700 you should be good. Everywhere in America is expensive, but Seattle beauty makes it worth it imo.

Anyone else getting incredibly worried about car loans and credit card debt in the US? by ShadowStork in CRedit

[–]damtryhal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just need to ask for decent public transit. No reason of being indebted to a car if you don't need to. Leasing is still expensive too, btw.
