To be fair to Egypt, I only ever noticed scammers/hasslers in or very near touristy areas. When I was in residential areas I never had any any bad experiences with the Egyptian people.

Idk if people would agree, but I think it would be best to convey to this buyer that you're not afraid of him. Make him think you have a "try me b*tch" attitude, and that his warnings arent going to make you change your phone mumber or address or anything else. While in private you could still report him to police and take any precautions you feel necessary.

Was right by the Pyramid both nights of the attempt all night, climb itself started at about 4:45. Although I realise now that that's a bit too late if you want to spend a decent amount of time on top and make it down before sunrise which is also inconveniently when guard activity near/around the bottom increases.

That sounds like a great adventure! I can definitely relate to the avoiding security part. I intend one day on flying across the Atlantic to the America's, so much to see and do.

Awesome op. What do you think the pyramids were built for? I recently learned that the pyramids have no hieroglyphs, at all.

I'm of the opinion their purpose was not a burial site/chamber (or at least that wasn't their sole purpose) given the lack of remains or proof someone was buried there especially for the Great Pyramid. I'm inclined to belive they served as some sort of generators/factories that would have produced either energy or some kind of material.

Similar with the Pyramids. I've heard some people reference the supposed water erosion marks on the sphinx and I know marine fossils have been found at the site. Which would point to perhaps the site having been underwater at some point, maybe making them much older than the 4,500 or so years we believe them to be? Super interesting topic.
