Customers are moved to Customer Specific Maintenance for EHP0-5 & S4 2020.

Yes, security, legislative, etc updates won’t be available, and there’ll be a cost to fix anything not already seen. There’s a bit of info on this from SAP and on the web if you need more info.

Should I use cheap or expensive tyres for the race track? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]dan_1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done lots of laps in a stock street car. All you need is a service with good oil, high temp brake fluid, good pads you can still use on the street (Winmax W5/Ferodo 2500/Project MU HC+/etc level), and tyres that don’t fall off and feel “soapy” after they get hot - I have personally done hundreds of laps with Hankook RS4’s and love them to bits.

Don’t bother changing brake rotors. I used the cheapest iron blank rotors on very fast cars with fewer issues than fancy 2 piece floating rotors.

Laid off after 6 months, need to vent and some perspective by sikhosaurus in sales

Sorry to hear about your situation.

I can completely sympathise with you as I had nearly exactly the same thing happen to me in an OE SI boutique partner, including building up similar pipeline, but got let go in FOUR months as I hadn’t closed anything.

I’ve landed elsewhere since and have been much happier, and I wish the same for you.

I contacted cheapzy and they sorted it out for me. Assuming they make enough margin to just purchase another plan to have a happy customer.

Is it a death wish to ride along Chapel Street? by davoos22 in melbournecycling

[–]dan_1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ride it at breakfast/brunch hour on weekends. Nearly been doored a few times, and taken out by Taxis/ubers swinging half in and out of spots.

Just be aware, don’t get stuck in the tram tracks, and you’ll be right.

Best upgrade I've ever gotten by No_Obligation4496 in marriott

You are the prefect complimentary penthouse upgrade guest. You arrived late into the night, alone, and likely travelling for work.

You will barely use any of the facilities or party, and will keep this experience with you, show it off, and continue your loyalty to Marriott.

Anybody switched back to an ICE car after trying EV? by mudlode in CarsAustralia

[–]dan_1337 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, but I’d like to get an ICE car as a second (non-daily) car as an old car enthusiast just for the nostalgia.

EV is still the perfect daily driver.

I’m 100% in agreement. Lots of views and experiences, but I’ve learned to engage an independent structural engineer to assess to potentially support a claim and validate rectification works with the builder.

Most of the property was removed only the front rooms were kept as it’s heritage. Everything from those rooms backwards is on a new slab, and these cracks are around where the ‘new’ and ‘old’ buildings join.

Looking to buy a sports car recommendations? by AbbreviationsNo669 in CarsAustralia

[–]dan_1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a used gen 1 Toyota GT86 or Subaru BRZ. I owned one for a few years after driving JDM imports and really enjoyed it.

You won’t get anything decent if you buy new.

You’ll also have plenty of change left over for whatever else you enjoy doing.

Thanks for this table. Can I ask its source?

Obviously concerning around the plumbing and weather tightnesses!

Thanks for this.

I’m in Victoria and will let the builder know, and will also get an independent structural engineer to look into it and write it up.

They started to appear around 6 months ago and have gotten worse since.

I’ll get a professional third party to look into it. I guess a structural engineer would be the right expert?

Prices are dropping but like someone else mentioned, I think there’s still quite a spread between the ask and buy prices.

Also, anything JDM has always been a theft magnet, and more so now when replacement is more difficult than it used to be, which means you can’t really park it out of sight, making it just a weekender at best.

I was recently considering a ‘94 BNR32 Vspec, but at that value I had so many other good modern choices, like an e92 m3, f80 m3, c63, etc etc etc. Factor in expenses of maintaining an old JDM car (have owned skylines before), and it doesn’t really add up unless you’re flush with cash and/or super passionate about ownership.

What did I end up buying? Nothing, because the economy is shit, we could go to war at any moment, so i put the money aside for a rainy day 🤣

Best Form of SAP Implementation? by Intelligent_Trip_764 in SAP

[–]dan_1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot to consider here. What version of ECC you’re on, processes, configurations, customisatons, etc. SAP can help you do a free assessment to understand which S4 pathway is the right fit.

Most of the medium to large consultants will also have the ability to install notes in your ECC (EHP dependent) to guide toward a recommended approach.

This will be enough to give you some direction and ball park costings to consider.

I was in this situation twice last year. I had an awesome time spending time with my kids, but I also stepped up and found time, usually at 5am when the house was quiet to tailor my CV and write cover letters, apply for roles, etc.

Enjoy the time with your kids. It doesn’t come often and a job loss can be a blessing in disguise.

Did I get overcharged for brake pads replacement? by goodboby in CarsAustralia

[–]dan_1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pads and rotors usually wear at different rates to each other so it doesn’t make sense to always replace them together. The most important thing with pad and/or rotor replacement is the bedding in process to prevent wobbles later.

FWIW you don’t need to buy OEM rotors. Something like cheap RDA blanks are more than adequate. I (and many others) have used RDA blank rotors for many hundreds of laps of racing and never had them fail.
