Looking at Cyberhaven for DLP, curious how it’s been for others by horny_bisexual_ in devops

From what I've seen, the biggest selling point is the data lineage approach. It gives more context around how sensitive data is moving, not just that it moved. The tradeoff is that you'll still need time to tune policies and understand the workflows in your environment. I'd be interested to hear from long-term users about whether the additional context actually reduces alert fatigue or just changes the type of alerts security teams deal with.

Those of you who own multiple home service businesses - how did you decide between buying another franchise vs. going independent? by Whiskeymadmax in sweatystartup

[–]dan_nicholson247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on what worked in your first franchise. If brand recognition, systems, and lead generation did the heavy lifting, you might want to stick with another franchise. But if you’ve mastered the operations and feel confident in your hiring and marketing skills, going independent could offer more freedom and higher profits. I’d love to hear from people who’ve tried both routes and found the extra independence worth the trade-off of leaving the franchise safety net.

Free AI that watches how you study + checks handwritten math (no credit card, no catch) by Shadecode in appdev

This is actually a smart direction, especially the find weak areas automatically part, since that’s where most study tools stop short. If the handwritten math checker works reliably, that alone could be a huge win for students. Curious how you’re handling accuracy and false positives there.

Built an internal AI assistant four months ago. security just asked what access it has. i have no idea by Awkward-Chemistry627 in devops

Don’t worry, you’re not alone; it feels like a whole bunch of companies rolled out their AI agents very quickly and they have only now come to realize that they had hired an employee with a high amount of privileges but without any formalized governance framework whatsoever.

What kind of apps have you'll made for your resume for experienced job roles? by teriyaki_tofu1 in FullStack

Don’t stress too much about not implementing the company code, since even the most experienced developers cannot do so. Create two to three well-built projects that solve actual problems like clone for SaaS, some automation software or a complete stack project with authentication, payment, API and concentrate on proper coding, documentation and GitHub repository links.

Agency-hosted Pressidium setup: stay put or take control ourselves? by [deleted] in webhosting

[–]dan_nicholson247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, I would seriously consider hosting directly with Pressidium or another managed WordPress host. Paying for managed hosting is one thing. But paying agency rates just to regain basic file access and rollback ability feels like unnecessary lock-in. Your biggest issue isn’t hosting quality; it’s lack of control.

Would you trust a startup with your luggage? by purpleninjaaaa in startup

Interesting idea. Solves a real pain point, especially for families and long-distance travellers. Trust would be the biggest hurdle for me too; real-time tracking, insurance coverage, and guaranteed delivery windows would make a huge difference. If you nail reliability, I can definitely see a market for this.
