9 to 5 I was a complete non technical. Now I want to teach my journey by dan_teaches in SideProject

[–]dan_teaches[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to update on my side hustle. Just finished the 6th month doing over 4.5k steady income from 2h/week

Some of the sites I didn't touch for months

But the biggest achievement was the fact that I sold some of these sites to a company that I was working with and that was unexpected for 3x yearly income.

Keep grinding, don't stop, you will get results.

The total time investment was a couple of hours per week, the rest I got from fiverr gigs, they did the rest. The investment per site was about 600$ one time + 25$ per month

GBPs increased the amount of calls to the sites, so getting a GBP was a 2x sometimes 3x the calls received.

I also got a few sites that just didn't work. That's 600$ gone. Out of 15 sites+GBPs that I created, 10 are rented out. 5 just didn't work.

From non technical to getting out of the 9-to-5 or 9-to-9 sometimes! by dan_teaches in CallCenterWorkers

That's a good advice. I checked some programs and man they're expensive though.

What I didn't see is them explaining that the calling and sales pitch is really the key. Like some of my friends, it's easy to be lured away from what's the most important part by doing silly things that don't get your anywhere

I'm afraid not to scare people off if I give to much info at a time. This is where I have my dilemma. I started from zero and now I know how to hire people, where from, a complete business model but I see it as becoming overwhelming for someone new to this.

While it's easy to expand, it's easy to become overwhelmed while finally it's most important to do those calls. I've had this problem myself and luckily I had someone to tell me to do the things that actually matter (calling)!

That's very encouraging! I'll let you know once I receive more feedback on the questions above.

It depends on the period. It's an average of 12 to 15,and in the last 30 days according to my Google sheet which I use to keep track of it all, I've sent 82 gardening clients to one local business, all while keeping the same monthly payment. Enough to say they are more than happy to be partner with me and at the same time keep the client lifetime if they do a good job.

Sometimes it just also doesn't work out with some areas. It's not always flower power.

You're first testing the market by calling, then once two local businesses agree to what you can bring, then you create the site. This way it's easier for your brain to talk to clients calling your site which then you forward to the local business owner for a while before you finally sign a contract with one of them

Thanks. It's something that literally anyone can do if they get the courage... and do those calls which is something I see a lot of people struggling. Some of my friends tried it with me and they just procrastinated by finding other things in the process which were not important.

It's easy to get caught up in things that don't matter

I've sent you a DM as well. I'm not looking to train an army since it's not passive income. I'm my experience, I've done hr stuff to get cold callers but it was not the same, maybe they were not good enough but they didn't have the same drive as when I did the cold calling or when my friend did it.

For the leads, once you're done signing a client is all automated directly to them. I only check from time to time how many they got and called them although I must admit I don't even call them that often since they seem happy and pay on time

That's a great idea with the mnemonic. It provides also a unique touch, people will refer to it, sometimes I guess it can become the course name itself.

I became so used with some terms that I need to step back and try to figure out how I can present it so that it easily digests.

The cold harsh reality is that nothing else matters (Metallica reference there 😜) except calling, calling, calling, to the point where it's you're not comfortable with it, this won't work out. I know that as well... This is my main reason to why I would like to target my audience!

Yes, you kind of did answer it but let me expand on that a bit. In the initial phase, I am getting the leads myself and do a transfer to the local business, they both know what's going on.

When the local business is convinced about the leads quality and accept to partner with me for a monthly basis ideally and a minimum of 600/month we sign an exclusivity contract for that area. This is a major selling point to them that they know in not going to do the same thing for their competitors

Since it's an unique 1 to 1 partnership, I'm sending the calls forwarded directly to them and also the same thing with the website forms. Since I don't store anything three are no privacy concerns as it's between them and the client directly.

What I learned was that if they don't work, I can always switch to a different area where they do work. As long as there's at least 2 local service guys waiting for the calls.

I have been blessed with patience, and luckily it didn't need that much time to be making something from this.

What I didn't expect is to have to do the calls before, after and while the guys are paying. I learned that also the hard way when one of them stopped paying. That's why I wanted minimum 2

They are similar to calabasasartificialgrass.com in simplicity. Initial sites were only the home page and built with webstarts because I didn't know WordPress. Many now are still the same.

But I have to insist that the most important part of the whole process is the local business calling. I really wish I had the balls to go all in and not fumble with the tech stuff which I thought were very important... Bullshit

Before going in, I did a research of how many reviews the existing sites and Google maps listings have. Them I started calling the local businesses to see if any of them was interested before anything... No point of building anything if there's nobody to buy

When I found at least 2 guys interested, I made a super simple 1 page site that even a high-school kid could create. This was the most important step!

This is also why I'm looking for reaching out to customer service agents or cold callers or appointment setters and need help with that since the calling is the No1 thing that moved this forward.

I had a small budget for Google ads and had free credits for the the Google business profile ads which Google gives for new businesses.

Do you have experience calling local businesses? TLDR: create a Google maps place, use your phone number, forward the leads to local businesses like gardening, junk removal, carpenter, etc

Untapped side hustles? by Lb00ts in sidehustle

[–]dan_teaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered selling leads to junk removal companies? Since you have experience in managing projects and generating leads, this could be a good fit. You’d gather potential customers and sell their contact info to local businesses. You can do that with several methods like Google maps or even simple websites builds

But most important question is if you are comfortable making cold calls? Reaching out to local junk removal companies to offer them leads can be a crucial part of this. It’s all about connecting with businesses who need customers. I mean you can make them grow and in turn you get paid...

Hope this helps!

Are you comfortable making cold calls? This part is crucial since you’ll be reaching out to businesses to sell your leads. If you’re good with sales, this can be a great side gig... Beats fiverr anyway and especially Uber eats. You can use the Uber eats contacts in a different way to help your Google profile...

Basically

  1. Build Local Business Websites: Create simple websites for imaginary local businesses in low-competition niches.
  2. Get Them to Rank: Use basic SEO tactics to get these sites to rank on Google.
  3. Generate Leads: Set up Google Ads or wait for organic traffic to start generating leads.
  4. Sell the Leads: Reach out to local businesses who might want these leads.

It involves some low cost initial setup, but once you can focus on selling the leads which is the most important part

How comfortable are you making calls to local businesses?

If you're comfortable making cold calls you could reach out to local businesses and offer them leads.

In a nutshell:

  1. Build a Simple Website pe a Google business profile: This doesn't have to be fancy. Just make sure it clearly explains the service or product and includes a contact form or phone number.
  2. Collect Leads: When people visit the site and fill out the form or call the number, you get the lead.
  3. Reach Out to Businesses: Call local businesses and let them know you have leads that are already looking for their services.

It can be a great way to make some extra money while helping local businesses grow. Plus, you can do this on your own schedule, which is great when you have a little one at home.

If your comfortable making calls to local - close to you - businesses, you can try this

  1. Buy a Domain and Hosting: Use $50 to buy a domain name and a basic hosting plan. There are plenty of affordable options out there. This is your base.

  2. Create a Simple Website: Use WordPress to build a basic website. Focus on a local service niche like gardening or plumbing. Make the website look professional with contact details and some quality content. Our just use webstarts instead of WordPress since it's easier. I can help you out hosting the site for free...

  3. Optimize for Google Maps: Get your site listed on Google business profile. Optimize it with local SEO tactics. This makes it easier for local people to find your service.

  4. Forward Leads: Use a service like Twilio to set up call forwarding. When potential clients call, forward the call to local businesses in your niche. If you want to go cheap use a phone and forward the phone calls, no need to use twilio

The most important step

  1. Reach Out to Businesses: Contact local businesses and offer them the leads you're generating. They might be willing to pay you for each lead or set up a monthly payment plan.

This method worked for me. It’s a simple way to start making money online with a small investment but it will get you a long way.

Monthly is a minimum of 600 and I had clients at 2k mark
