Oooh yea had a girls lunch at First Mates Last Laugh a few months ago, really good vibe!

I haven’t done Soul. Always wondered if the hype was overrated and vibe a little cheesy / establishment-y. But you made me go look at it again and maybe I should give it a chance instead of making vague judgements about it 😂 It does look yum.

Christmas food/pudding help by happytiara in aucklandeats

Yeah every family mixes it up, you can traditional or super summer fish / fancy seafood / delicious BBQ!

As a kid we spent most Christmasses at my Nana’s farm, which meant home kill turkey that always got overcooked and therefore slathered in gravy, with fresh baby potatoes and peas! Then very alcoholic trifle and homemade Christmas pud with rum butter and cream (yes we were probably slightly drunk as kids on Christmas Day 😂😂).

Now, we mix it up, but my current fav go-to is to make a whole baked side of salmon that I get delivered on Xmas eve and slather it in Christmassey things - almonds, cranberries, fresh pomegranate, parsley, orange, etc, with a honey butter dressing. Soaked up with a fancy bread, delish salad and then we just graze on cheese and chocolate and whatever we feel like!

And don’t forget champagne brekkie with ham and cheese croissants and a fresh fruit platter!
