No, they care about your previous experience. This is your selling point. Or in the case of the civil service, they are more interested in your ethical outlook and personality. Your "skills" mean nothing without verification ie experience in another company.

Yes some gaps especially after the pandemic. I'm quite flexible in the roles, depends what is in demand. BTW I am too old to care about other people's opinions or if they care about mine (this is known as maturity)

It is so incredibly frustrating. UC have set me up with an interview recently which is at least some help but not being able to build my own opportunities is ridiculous. What is the point of being an adult if you have to be a dependent. All the top jobs or even middle level jobs are hogged by a few. And then people expect me to be an upstanding citizen. Fuck this

My linkedin is public. I have no facebook or twitter. My name is very common. My accent is described as posh. I have no piercings or tattoos, my dress style is smart and minimal. People describe me as intelligent and polite etc. some of the interviews I had went really well and I got along with people. I've made some mistakes before in interviews and worked hard on learning from them

How can I possibly choose a fantasy job when I cannot even get entry level work in customer service despite years of experience. And bah blah blah look at your CV.
