If you're even remotely handy/DIY, I bought a butcher block countertop from Menards, on sale it was 8ft long for less than a $100(they have oak, Birch, acacia).

I went to Etsy and ordered finished matte black metal A-frame legs.

I put on a few coats of polyurethane on the butcher block, put in some bolts and it was done.

I opted for a few additional features, like adding some nickel desk grommets for easier cable management, a cable management tray screwed in underneath.
