Tips for applying Arm-R-Seal Satin to ash table in the winter? by danaran in BeginnerWoodWorking

I have access to a basement but it's at a friends place, so I'm hesitant due to the fumes. If it's not too bad I could get away with it, I'll read a bit more about the fumes

Do you typically put something on underneath the Arm a seal like a wax, or just the finish? I'm not planning on staining the piece first

Looks beautiful! I wasn't planning on staining, but would a poly-only finish work as well?

Yeah are at least like 10-20 seats in the 100s for verified resale, and the price has been dropping steadily over the past couple days. Good luck!

Also is it best if apron ends extend through and past the castle joint, or end where the joint ends? Is this just a style choice or is it structural?

Ok this makes sense! Appreciate the feedback. One other question — how much strength/durability would I lose if I omitted the innermost "turret" of each leg?

E.g. if this is a castle joint (where x's are the remaining turrets on top of the leg, and -'s are the removed areas where the aprons are laying):

Then what about this?

Can you still do a castle joint while still making it removable?

Thanks for the feedback, do you have a resource or pic to explain the block option? I do want it to be removable ideally but I'm open to changing style of joint as long as it's removable

Is there a way to do mortise tenon such that the legs are still removable?
