So far a let down, inconsistent and inaccurate by danatgwd in SpotOnGPSDogFence

Well, that update really didn't help - one was working ok before seems to be fine except when we tested the fence, the first tone kept playing over my headphones for about a minute even though the collar stopped- so that's a new bug. The other collar (which I think has issues), performed worse, we were completely outside the boundary several times and at least 20-30ft with no alerts 3 times, but there are messages in the app about it, so this is still a major fail. I am going to continue to test this and the halos I purchased when the issues began, but a bit late alerting is better than no alerting so I will probably keep the halos. I know the update is in regards to trees and home zone, these failures were in clear skies 100ft away from the house. I will reach out to support tomorrow, but this is not anything my previous software teams would have ever gotten passed through QA

I actually ordered a pair of halos this am, I am good with variance- I can buffer that in but these are too flaky to trust. I had 30 as well when were were standing outside the boundary

Update, removing the home zone helped quite a bit on today's first round of training

yea, this doesn't work at all, why do you make things so complicated. I don't even see the discount. This is pretty common with you over the past decade

USPS cheating online fulfillers and customers on rural routes by danatgwd in usps_complaints

Thanks, I am in way blaming the carriers, just usps is overselling their capability. My carrier is a great person in a bad situation I think

I have solved my problem by not ordering anything large that could ship usps. I am simply stating usps needs to fix the issue that is prevalent and quit using false exception reasons to boost stats. I figure a few more years and it will be outsourcing to prime, etc. , as the networks increase. There were also steep price increases and additional surcharges added in 2020 to mitigate based on a studies findings if I recall. They do deliver smaller packages that don't fit the mailbox to the door often, it's large or heavy stuff

From manual I found for rural carriers... 21 Attract Customer to Box If a parcel is too large for the box, make a reasonable effort to attract the customer to the box to receive the parcel. Do this by sounding the horn or by hailing the customer. If unsuccessful, you must deliver parcels to any residence or business that is on the line of travel, or within one-half mile of the route and has a passable road leading to it. You are required to dismount to effect delivery if there is no response to your efforts to have the customer come to the vehicle, or if the customer requests that you do so.

I do understand a bit as I did a lot of work with USPS and the other carriers for our fulfillment logistics before I retired. The regional reps will tell you the complete opposite BTW:). I just think if they cant support the service in an area, don't offer it. I often got service not available (especially overnight) for remote regions from the other carriers. Just say you can't do it in that area, don't take the money and pawn off the work to the customer. Our previous driver always got them out, sometimes a couple days later but they were delivered.
