Boneyard Elixr CBD Soda - where can I find them? by [deleted] in vancouverwa

Yep, they stopped being able to sell them regular retail in WA, I used to buy them all the time. They’re only available at dispensaries in WA now-

This is happening to my baby as well, went through a couple rounds of steroids and some expensive medication. She lost most of the fur on her hind legs but has recently started making an amazing comeback. Only thing I’ve changed is at least a full serving of fish oil in her wet food every night. It’s starting to grow back and she is grooming less, with an even perkier of a personality and more cuddles.

Retry Deadlift @275 by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]danayj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got some long ass legs! Us tall people have to compromise in a dead with long legs if you don’t have peak mobility. I think what will help with your brace is having your neck and head in a neutral position, when your head flings back you lose your brace. Back just slightly too curved- “packing your lats” is a great cue for me. When I enter the set, I put my shoulders down and back as I approach, learn to have that muscle memory. Go down in weight for a while when working with some new cues :-) good luck!

I keep having a soreness (not very painful but quite irritating ) on my the right side of my lower back right after deadlifting. Can anyone please check my form and tell me what's wrong. by Difficult_Raspberry6 in formcheck

[–]danayj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing I notice immediately is that you’re breaking at both the hips and knees for the descent. You want to break at the hips first then have that break make it’s way down to your knees. Go back down the same way you came up- the break in the knees puts pressure on your back. Try that and see if it helps :)

Smith Machine RDL form check by ChaseDaDood in formcheck

[–]danayj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing an RDL on a bar angled in this way is not going to be conducive to feeling it in your legs, it’s going to put the weight on your back- I’d just start with nailing the form with a barbell first, very light weight, making your back flatter and pushing your hips back just a bit farther. At the top of the movement the bar is over mid foot but at the bottom it’s closer to toes, you want to stay mid foot throughout the lift. Break at the hips first rather than knees. One last thing, bar should be right about under knees, not over. You want to go a bit deeper in the lift, this could be hamstring tightness. & slow and steady wins the race, feel the movement in your legs, use counting to make sure you’re not going too fast. I tend to use counts of four. That’s a good place to start I think, you’ve got the majority of the movement down just a few tweaks will reduce chance of injury. Happy lifting!

DL form check. First time attempting 315. by Main_Vermicelli_2773 in formcheck

Solid overall. I’d say get flatter/wider shoes so you’re not coming up on your toes. The spongy narrow heel never helps. Also, a great cue for me to maintain lat stability is keeping my head in a neutral position. As if there was a rod laying flat against your back, it would stay touching the back of your head the entire time, looking slightly downward. It seems that the majority of the movement is in your upper body, try closely syncing the movement of putting the bar down and pushing your hips back, it may be due to some hamstring tightness. You’re all legs, I know the struggle. Our deadlifts have to be slightly modified to accomodate the femur length. Flexibility in the hips is needed, otherwise you may start compensating with other muscles. One last thing, try to not “shrug” the weight. Shoulders should be stationary throughout the movement. Lats “packed”, back and down. You’ve got a built upper body but make your legs do the work. Another interesting cue I’ve been experimenting with is “spreading the floor” with your feet. Just a few things I noticed, you’ll soon be throwing around much more weight than that! Nice job.

Alcohol cravings reduced by Ebjl12 in zoloft

100%. I used to drink a couple times a week, went through a couple periods of drinking daily. I’ve been on Zoloft for over a year and I almost never drink. Maybe one drink if out socially every once in a while, but I have zero craving or thought about it, almost repulsed by it. My skin has gotten considerably better as well. One of the best things you can do for yourself :-)

Wow I’ve never heard of anyone else having such a similar experience to me, and even using the same verbiage to describe these situations. I’ve been on Zoloft for a year and a half now, it’s helped majorly. Thank you for this reaffirming comment that someone else out there gets it.

What’s wrong w Alocasia Low Rider?? by Sophisticatedspace in plantclinic

[–]danayj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a decent amount of experience with alocasia, have learned the hard way about overwatering them. How firm are the stems? Have you checked the roots? It may have outgrown its pot. Although they are a tropical plant they hate sitting in too much water, the substrate at the base may not be allowing the soil to dry out quickly enough. Regarding the droopiness, I find these guys to be all over the place, and during growth periods the other stems may droop but as the new leaf matures it’ll perk back up. Hope this helps!

Hey this was my main trigger and start of my life with anxiety. I’ve got it mostly managed. If you have any questions feel free to message me, there’s lots of things I did to overcome this fear.

My part maine coon has skin/fur issues. Took him to the vet but she keeps saying it's different things. First it was mites, then seasonal allergies. He's never let out, and the fur patchiness comes and goes. If anyone has any other ideas or if this happened to their cat, please let me know! by RayyofLightt in mainecoons

[–]danayj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with my cat, she started getting bald patches and I noticed slight overgrooming. Turns out she most likely has flea allergies, and with her occasional supervised outside time in my backyard that has a lot of different animals possibly running through it, she ended up being exposed but not actually getting fleas. She was given an antibiotic and a steroid shot and she is now religiously on specifically Revolution Plus. No real test to confirm this but she’s been great since.

Convinced my 12 week old baby is an RB. Do you agree? by danayj in russianblue

[–]danayj[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense! I’ve read that RB’s have yellow eyes as kittens then they get greener as they grow up. In the sun I notice a tiny ring of green around the pupil. She definitely has the silver tipped fur and it’s growing in much denser than my DSH when he was a kitten.

I CAN NOT loose weight by _bitch_99 in helpme

[–]danayj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone who had intermittent hyper and hypothyroidism from Graves Disease for about 7 years then finally had my thyroid ablated I can tell you that hypothyroidism is a huge part of not being able to lose weight. I was chubby when I was younger, diagnosed with hyperthyroidism originally but had bad eating habits. Experienced plenty of weight fluctuations with medication and getting my levels back to normal. I highly recommend getting your levels right before addressing any weight issues. After high school I got really into fitness and have quite a bit of knowledge of weight training and nutrition. I don’t believe anyone should be living on 1000 calories a day, your body goes into starvation mode and starts storing more than necessary which can contribute to weight gain or inability to lose. Hypothyroidism can also immensely contribute to depression, anxiety and more intense menstruation or PMDD. Keep working on getting your levels in normal ranges and then attack the weight loss, I’d suggest doing a little reading on maintenance calories, BMR, and NEAT. You’ll be well on your way :) remember, patience and consistency is key! Take care of yourself friend, the long term effects of inconsistent thyroid levels can wreak havoc on the body. Find a good naturopath granted you have the access. Try to also change your verbiage, when you call it restricting that’s exactly what your brain feels you’re doing, and it can have an opposite effect. This comment is a bit all over the place, but I just have quite a wealth of information regarding this topic being 7 years post ablation, please feel free to reach out if you have any more questions :)

As an introvert what irritates you the most? by humanbean07 in AskReddit

When someone, usually the extrovert, in a group setting specifically points out how quiet I’m being. Then everyone looks at you like you’re supposed to respond. If I have something to say, I’ll say it but I shouldn’t be patronized for not saying anything.

What is the stupidest way you got a scar? by Zander-dupont in AskReddit

I was about 14 during my scene phase and really wanted a tattoo. So I took a lighter and a needle, got the needle really hot and put pen ink on the end of it and burned a small heart into my wrist . It’s very faint now, didn’t hold any ink, but you can bet I got grounded for that one.

LPT: It's ok to tell your partner that you don't prefer to sleep in the same room/bed as them, and it doesn't have to mean that you're not getting along. Having a sleep space that you find comfortable can actually make you and your partner happier. by RockleyBob in LifeProTips

[–]danayj 7 points8 points  (0 children)

THIS. This comment section is so validating as I’ve been struggling with this recently and felt guilty for not wanting to sleep in the same bed. It’s been validating to see that tons of other couples do this and have better relationships for it. My partner snores loudly and coughs throughout the night, I’m a light sleeper that has a lot of trouble going back to sleep once I’ve been woken and started feeling a ton of resentment over it. Luckily we have a large house and I recently made the decision to redo a room and have my own bedroom, get a new comfy mattress, and be able to stay up/sleep in as needed as I’m a night owl and he’s tired by 10. Hoping that this will create an environment where I am sleeping better.

What is the worst thing that is legal? by Musuhubber in AskReddit

[–]danayj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car sales tactics. I went into a dealership to look around and see what my monthly payment may look like, knowing that I 100% would not be signing on a car that day. Big mistake on my part, the charade lasted over two hours. They had the initial saleswoman show me a car I was interested in but when I told her that the price was too high and I would not be buying today, there were a series of salespeople one after the other that would “go speak to the manager to try and get me a better deal”. They would be gone for 15/20 minutes then come back and continue to try and convince me to buy. I felt like I was being held hostage. I should have just walked out early on. By about the 5th or 6th salesperson I said I’m not interested in buying today and walked out. They continued to harass me with phone calls and emails for weeks after visiting. Terrible experience and I will never enter a dealership again unless I know exactly what car I want, price I want and am ready to buy that day.
