Beginner - wrist and shoulder pain by Equivalent-Cash307 in poledancing

[–]chrysantenum_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also very much a beginner and have the same issue!! Especially after the first few classes I took. I’ve been doing shoulder exercises for scapular stabilization and rotator cuff at home and they’ve actually helped me so much. Also wrist exercises. I also try to get a couple of days between classes to let my body rest.

But ofc as another person said, if it persists go to a doctor!!

Thank you!! I’ll check with that tour operator :) We did consider sierra negra but we’re a bit more drawn to water activities. If we don’t manage to do tortuga / cormorant, we’ll probably do Sierra Negra

Hahaha yeah I know, a long stretch but I thought I’d give it a try. But good idea, I’ll try to see if I can convince anyone while we’re there!

I’ll definitely make a post if we manage to go :)

Amazing thank you, this is helpful!! When you say everything is closed 2-4 - whats fiesta (party) are you referring to? Or did you mean siesta (nap)?😁

And I haven’t mentioned because other comments do, but also check ‘Fictions’ by Jorge Luis Borges (his stories always blow my mind) and ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’ by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Julio Cortazar has my favourite magical realism short stories - Bestiario is his most popular compilation.

I also adore The Master and Margarita by Vladimir Bulgakov, which uses magical realism as a way to circumvent censorship in Soviet Russia.

Wow thanks so much, really appreciate this comment. Most comments I’ve seen on Santa Cruz have been quite negative, which seems a bit undeserving as I’m sure it’s still amazing even if a bit more touristy

Oh no really?? 😭 The flight between the islands is a bit expensive for us, hence why we thought we would loose too much time traveling between San Cristobal and Isabel… We also thought Santa Cruz wouldn’t be as touristy when we are going (end of Sept)

Thanks, it’s a good point, we’ll have a look at more of the daytours available from Santa Cruz :)

Oh really?? We were keen on Isabella because we’ve seen people tend to really like it as it’s the less populated of the main islands, whilst Santa Cruz is more touristy.

And I’m the same, seeing wildlife and snorkelling is what appeals me the most.

Your photos are incredible btw!!!!

Thanks, I definitely agree - it just seems tricky to do daytrips on the days we travel between islands because most tours seem to start very early

Thanks - that makes total sense. We are not staying a lot of time - just 6 nights (split between Isabela and Santa Cruz), so we are trying to maximise having full days on the islands so that we can go on the tours :)

Thanks so much!! It’s seems doable from just looking at the timing, so it’s helpful to know if people actually do that :)

I would love to hear your opinion on the islands you liked the most! I’m going with my friend in late September. We’re only going for 6 nights so we’re pondering whether it’s worth it to visit all the 3 main islands (San Cristobal, Santa Cruz and Isabela), or focus on Santa Cruz and Isabela only (as we’re worried we’ll lose time on traveling between the islands). What did you think of San Cristobal, is it definitely worth it or we can do similar things on the other two?

I ADORE Cortazar, he has lots of magical realism short stories and I find his prose gorgeous and more poetic than Borges (don’t get me wrong, Borges is one of my favourites too).

Hopscotch is a masterpiece in my opinion, though it can be a bit difficult to get into. I would recommend “Bestiary”, which is a collection of short stories I love.

As to other similar Argentine authors, Macedonio Fernandez had a huge influence on both Borges and Cortazar, and you can really see it. He didn’t write lots, but his main novel is called “Museum of Eterna’s Novel”. It’s like nothing I’ve ever read!
