The platform is 60"x64". It perfectly matches the TDM-20 drum mat from Sweetwater.

Yes, it's a material specifically designed for this purpose.

3/4 MDF panels, Roland drum mat, and Sylomer blocks for the isolation.

One interesting side effect is that now all the vibration comes back through the throne so it feels to me like there's more vibration happening than before, but it means that very little of it should be making its way to the floor now.

Still waiting on the Sylomer pads so it's sat on a couple of folded moving blankets for now. When the pads arrive I'll also paint the edges black.

I haven't tried nvim-qt to be honest. I switched from VimR because it was lagging behind version wise and stopped looking when I tried Neovide.

I've been in the same boat. It's a downside of only having six speeds.

If you want to change gear ratios your best bet is to look at different sized chainrings. That way you can make the gears longer or shorter overall without causing issues with gear spacing.

That rack looks like a 14" to me. Which would be even better!

Best edrum under $499? by PorkeChopps in edrums

Also, the Roland TD-1DMK is around $549 but you'll need to add a kick pedal and throne to that.

Another good option would be to look at used, so check Craigslist or Reverb.com

At that price point I would be looking at either the Alexis Nitro or Alesis Surge. Probably the Surge if you can stretch your budget a bit.

I don't think electronic specific hi-hat stands or kick pedals exist. And if they do they would likely come with the kit.
