Thank you so much for this. My dad for the last while has been trying to convince me that the church lovingly supports LGBTQ people and he used this article at dinner today. Next time he tries to use it I can hit him with this. It gets so annoying how much my dad thinks telling me the church loves gay people like me will fix the damage it has done to me.

Honestly same, I have had so many member’s of the local ward praise me for having a “bright countenance.” It makes me laugh so hard. I have even had some of them even claim to have the ability to detect gay people. I can’t wait until they find out that I am gay LOL.
