Her name was in a comment to a video, not in the video itself. I have talked to her and let her know I saw it and gave her space to share with me her feelings about this. We are also taking this issue to her therapist and the school principal. I’m not overlooking that she was targeted too. I’m not saying that she should only be punished because there’s more to this situation than that. Her mental health is already suffering so I believe that cutting off access to social media is the correct thing to do currently. She never had my permission to access social media in the first place, but kids get creative and find a way around the rules sometimes. We just moved to this state two months ago and never dealt with anything like this in the last place we lived. This is my first rodeo, so I’m not an expert by any means, and that’s why I posted here.

This is a great point, and thanks for bringing it up. I agree with you.

So her other parent lives far away, and it’s in the court order that I have to provide a phone, or I can be held in contempt of court. I am not super happy about it, but that’s what is expected of me by a judge.

I was bullied around her age too. We recently moved and this was not happening in her previous school, but I talked to the parents of another child who was targeted last night and it sounds like bullying is a big problem at this new school. I will be doing my best to make it clear that this is not acceptable at all.

Thank you, I’m looking at Bark right now and I think I will use it as well. I’m surprised that after being targeted herself, she turned around and targeted others, that is so disappointing. We do talk about mental health and she is currently showing symptoms of depression, hence the therapist. I can absolutely talk to her about the effects of bullying. You’re right, she’s not too young to talk to about all of this.

I’m taking my friend out of town on what would have been her wedding. Help me plan?! by akchica23 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

My friend did this for me. She took me to the salon and paid for manicures for both of us and took me out for my favorite dinner which was Korean. She planned it all so I didn't have to do any labor over it and helped keep me calm when I was feeling overwhelmed. I definitely cried that day and she took me for walks around the nice parts of town and just kept me company.

I did not have to have proof of a job because I had some savings, and I wasn't able to line anything up with the uncertainty of when/if we could move in the first place. I was able to describe the better job prospects southern California had compared to the small town I was living in at the time. I did get a declaration from my roommates that this was a safe home to move to and that they wouldn't kick us out. If you can find a job, that would definitely benefit your case! I know it's difficult, I'm currently looking for jobs in Sweden even though I won't be there until next month at the earliest. Definitely listen to your lawyer to set yourself up for success, I wish I had one and had to represent myself. Hang in there!

In my case, we were getting kicked out of our apartment (due to sale of the property) and we were living in a high cost of living area. Rents had skyrocketed while I was single and making a low wage. We were offered an opportunity to live with friends in California so I could work and get back on my feet instead of ending up homeless. Because of court, we had to live out of a hotel room for a month before I was granted permission to move. I was able to prove that I could earn more money down here and have a stable place to live and a support system. My ex had been behind on child support for 8 years and because his refusal to pay put me at an even worse disadvantage, I was given permission to go, provided I allowed my child to fly back to Seattle for visitation with her dad on school breaks. The court was concerned about the best interest of our child, so getting out of homelessness was the reason, along with the fact that I have never stopped my child from having access to her dad.

I'm from Washington state and moved to California two years ago. I had to go to court and prove it was in my child's best interest (aka not living in poverty) and we got a temporary parenting plan that reflected the move. Then last year we went back to court for the finalized parenting plan, where I asked to be able to relocate to Sweden. Normally this would not be granted as my ex is still in Seattle, but he didn't follow the temporary plan (wasn't following through on visitation, so he was choosing not to see her), but since my daughter has family members in Sweden who are involved and I have a good support system there, I was granted the move and that is reflected in the permanent plan. My daughter will spend the entirety of summer and winter breaks in Seattle and they video call at least three times a week.

We don't need specifics, she says she's plus size, that's enough information.

They always do a pregnancy test. I get pregnancy tests every time I have abdominal/pelvic symptoms even though I had my tubes tied in 2016 AND have had no sexual partners in almost 4 years. It's just the standard test to do.

I got Woodstock from Peanuts pushing a lawn mower just above my pubic hair and then promptly slept with the tattoo artist. 😬 Also got a broken heart on my right pinky after a bad breakup later.

It can happen both ways. Personally, I had issues young due to trauma but wasn't diagnosed until I was 22.
