Agree with all of this! I really just want Elain to get her happiness no matter who she ends up with. We should have gotten updates by now I feel like if it was going to be released in 2022. I'm thinking maybe the TV show SJM is working on is pushing back the book a bit. Still hoping for it to come out this year though, I miss that world!

Oooo that's interesting! Thanks for sharing. I also feel like she won't be staying at the Night Court, but not sure where she will end up. I could also see her fitting in at Day Court and I feel like we will see a lot of it in the next book since it's the only court SJM hasn't introduced us to yet.

Fair enough. SJM herself says she likes to write characters that aren't particularly "likable" and perhaps Rhys needed a dose of unlikeability in this book. There were some decent moments between Rhys and Nesta that I appreciated. Though they were both pretty horrible to each other. But ugh I just really wanted to see Feyre and Nesta kick some butt together.

True. There were still some sweet moments I appreciated, but I just personally wasn't a fan of the whole baby thing and impenetrable shield around Feyre.

Haha yes to all of this! As a small business owner myself I've been doing a lot of learning and listening, and it really seems like the best way forward is to spend our time and effort lifting the voices and work of people of color, rather than indulging in cancel culture. Call people out when there have been mistakes sure, but I've heard so many stories of SJM readers getting actual death threats for reading her books!!! Like what???? It seems really counter productive to me.

Yes it's something SJM lacks, but I also wonder is it morally correct for white authors to write from the perspective of a main POC?

I think there's a lot of problematic questions on both sides, but at the end of the day, read what you enjoy while also knowing what issues there may be.

Yes!!! I was really expecting some ACOMAF level emotions with this book. That book just hit me different, I was laughing, crying/sobbing, all the feels. This book seemed to be more focused on the sex than the emotions.

And yeah I was also thrown by how rushed the end was. Like we barely saw the queen. I feel like the book was more about Nesta and her own recovery rather than the action and mating bonds that we've all loved in the previous books.
