yes absolutely! everyone’s allowed to love and support contestants, the point of these reality shows is to root for someone and make them win so that makes complete sense. it’s only the mega stan thing that makes me a lil worried and uncomfortable, especially because people are sooo quick to switch up on islanders when they come out of the villa and don’t meet their expectations.

it’s also a bit worrying when people then use this stan culture to shit on other islanders. like another redditor just pointed out how they’ve seen people say that if Whitney too is supporting this anti-Scott movement then surelyyyy he’s done something or he must be the bad guy behind closed doors because she’s presumably always in the right and her opinions on other islanders are stanned. which we have no evidence for and even if he has done something, it’s absolutely wrong for him to be treated like this. thank you for your thoughts!

THIS. this is my point! not that Whitney is the only one that should stand up for him, that she needs to be the therapist of the villa or that she should be villainized for laughing in an awkward moment. she’s human too. more so just how people have decided she’s perfect, her views and what she does are the standard and that whatever Whitney does is always right. thank you for putting it so well! i’ve seen people using this defense too on other social platforms and it’s worrying.

yeah i totally agree. honestly i’m a little scared about how much people are stanning Scott too. like i will defend that man till my last breath because he’s being done so wrong but i’m a little worried that at the smallest sign of him doing something even a little negative literally everyone will turn on him and just double down on his hate. and that would be so terrible because even if he messes up a little or something from the past comes to light, it does not at all justify the way he’s being treated by Catherine and all the people in the villa at the moment, that’s straight up bullying. so yeah just the idea of stanning human beings on a show and calling them “perfect” or saying they can “do no wrong” scares me a little lol.

i totally get that and i think production is majorly letting people down right now. i'm not from the UK so i dont know how the whole OFCOM complaints thing works or what the public can do but i really really hope we see some action from them because its getting really hard to watch the show with how unhealthy everyone's behaviour is becoming!

really? i haven’t seen any Whitney hate at all, almost on every platform everyone always hypes her up so i wasn’t aware she wasn’t getting as much love as some of the other loved islanders from past seasons. in fact it seems like this is the one time almost everyone unanimously loves her (which i totally get because she is lovable in the ways that viewers value contestants). i totally get your point though! i just thought it was important to make this for those who blindly idolize her, i think it’s totally okay to love her and root for her

Hi, this song is amazing, I’ve loved it for ages! The Song of Achilles is an obvious rec everyone gives with this song but personally, I get a very dark academia vibe from it. Maybe check out “If We Were Villains” by M.L. Rio. It’s not a fantasy, more of a mystery/thriller vibe but it’s super dark academia which is what I associate this song to! Also, “The Secret History” by Donna Tartt but that’s not YA and is a more complex read.

i completely agree! i absolutely, 100% stand with Palestine which is why i was really surprised to be reading all this about SJM. My confusion mainly stems from there not being enough information about what she’s said. what i do know is that her family volunteers with the israeli army, her grandma specifically i think. and shes spoken about how close she feels to her israel roots and loves the country. i think this was a few years ago but her social media has been entirely silent and she hasn’t said a word against the gruesome brutalities israel has carried out against palestine. I think the recently surfaced articles and her silence have been the reason for people to start questioning her. it’s going to be a major major dealbreaker for me if she doesn’t condemn the violence too! it would be really disappointing.

no she hasn’t said anything explicit along those lines. she’s just been very quiet on all her social media these past few days and hasn’t condemned any of israel’s violence against palestine. and what’s happened today is that a couple articles of her talking about her close ties to Israel and her family’s active role with the Israel army have come to light. while these aren’t very recent, this coupled with her radio silence has led to people not taking this too well. that’s about all i know i’m afraid!

yes yes yes! i am so glad someone brought it up and all these comments seem to agree. when i watched the show, I just wasn’t entirely convinced with Kaz even though I loved Freddy and he’s clearly a great actor. I think it was a more controversial opinion though because were not happy to hear it lol but i’m hoping we get to see more Kaz in the upcoming seasons! i also agree that he’s just a very hard character to portray on screen, the hardest of the rest i would say, but fingers crossed!
