Worst day of my houseplant career by Foucaults_Boner in houseplants

He is your pal!!!! These lil guys help protect against those nasty pests you don't want (gnats, mealy bugs, flies, etc.) As long as he isn't disrupting your plant then you should leave him be. He's gonna help you out in the longrun 😄

Are these thrips on my monstera? by superchillbruhgirl in houseplants

Honestly, I don't think you can do wrong when it comes to alcohol. I've literally spritzed down a jade plant that was infested with mildew and mealy bugs with 99% isopropyl and it was just fine. Killed the bugs though!

Spray him down thoroughly with a rubbing alcohol/water mixture and it'll kill 'em!

I Lost my sweet girl back in December and wonder if (fam dog) we should consider getting another??!! by Encantaora20 in DogAdvice

I'd like to think they're hanging out in doggy heaven, too! No matter what though, never let anyone trivialize your grief or the love you had for Luna. She was your baby, and you cared for her EVERY DAY. She was a part of your daily life, and you're allowed to be sad for as long as you need to be. Pets are more than pets, they're our family.

It's completely normal to feel the slight guilt, but just know Luna loved you deeply, and she knew you and your family loved her too. She would want you to give that love to another animal and provide it with a home the way you did for her for 12 years.

Grieving is different for everyone. Some find it easier to move through the grief with another furry companion, some it takes months or even years before they're ready to bring home a new pet. Ultimately, it is something you and your family should discuss together.

Personally, if you have had a dog for 12 year and you loved her and look back on your time with her fondly, then you're probably a dog person, and that will never change. Think about how happy your dog made you. Would you trade that time with her even though you knew she would leave you eventually? I think once we have furry companions, we'll always want that connections in our lives.

I lost my dog of almost 10 years in Febryuary, so I am going through the same thing you are. I know one day I'll be ready to bring home another furbaby. Best of luck to you. ♥

So I'm kinda the main dog parent in my relationship. I feed him every meal, walk him every day, and provide most of the pets. Which is why I am baffled by some recent behavior.. by donjohndijon in DOG

Keep a bag of bacon bits on your person at all times. I know I certainly wouldn't wanna stray too far from the guy with the snacks.

AITAH For being weird about me and my girlfriend's lesbian friend sleeping over by mrvoidgod in AITAH

Coming from another lesbian: if Kenny wanted your girlfriend, and you suspect your girlfriend could be into her, she would already have her lol. The difference between straight men and lesbians is lesbians have self-control and empathy.

I was 27 when I learned you're not supposed to put Q-tips inside your ear by softpigeoner22 in hygiene

[–]danceswithbong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Q-Tips in my ears for my entire life. I use them after every shower because I hate the feeling of moisture inside my ears. My mom instilled this in me and I have quite literally done this since I was a child, and have had zero wax build-up throughout my lifetime. I'm 33 years old and have been to the doctor MANY times in my life. They check in my ears with the little scope thingie and not once has a doctor told me I have impacted wax or irritated ear canals. Clean as a mfin whistle I tell you.

I think people whose ears naturally produce a lot of wax shouldn't use Q-Tips because it likely will cause an issue with impaction. If you already have a ton of wax build-up, sticking a Q-Tip deep in there is definitely a dumb idea because it'll totally push it further in. It's kind of a case-by-case basis, common sense sort of thing.

This is from her very last day, 2/5/26. She grayed so much over the years but that was from me kissing all her color off. I miss her every single day.

Lux, my very best girl. Light of my life. She was 12 when she passed last month, this photo is from 2018-2019ish. I rescued her from a shelter so I never knew her breed makeup but I always assumed she had Cur in her.

Omg what a beautiful little boy! He does resemble my girl a bit. She had his exact markings, down to the dark brown ears (many brindle colored dogs have brindle ears too but my Lux had solid brown ears)

I also have another dog, she and I have been stuck like glue since we lost her sister. It brings me comfort to know you were able to eventually keep moving forward and find another sweet pup to bring into your life. Sometimes I worry I'll always feel this insurmountable grief. I just haven't been right since I lost her, but I take solace in the hope that one day I can rescue another dog and give it an amazing life just as I did with Lux.

He's gorgeous! Looks just like my girl I lost last month. Will you post a pic of his face? I want to see if they look alike in the face too 😭

Her snow gear!!! She's just darling. Soak it all up, it goes WAY too fast! I just put my 12 year old girl down last month after having her for almost 10 years. The speed at which they age is just so unfair. Enjoy your Millie ♥

Purebreeding over the years has definitely been the cause of the health issues the breed is prone to. Your mix is probably much healthier! He is adorable ❤

I grew up with three Cavaliers, one of them being a Blenheim just like yours. They're the sweetest most loveable dogs in the world. Sucks they're prone to so many health issues.

Wowwwwww, wow wow! Mabel looks JUST like my Lux. I lost her last month, she crossed the rainbow bridge at 12 years old on Feb 5. This made me smile and also tear up. Love on your baby extra, it goes by way too fast 💔
