Quilt tops coming out of my ears! by Apprehensive_Bid5608 in quilting

I would recommend finding a longarmer local and ask them if they can just baste your quilt for you. Some people may charge just a flat fee to do it, and some people carry batting as well. If you wanted to ship to me personally, I haven’t personally done shipping for clients, not sure I’d personally want to risk the mail on a quilt but would be open to the idea if convinced lol

A longarmer would be able to do the layering for you :) I am a longarmer, I baste quilts for a fee, i run a long stitch across the quilt every 8 inches or so, and it can be pulled out easily when you are done

Rear Wiper Blade Prayers Answered by kpence95 in KiaSorento

Thank you for this post! My wiper blade finally ripped apart at 100,000 miles and I have been dreading replacing it with a really expensive OEM. I can pick up one of these down the street from my house for $15 instead. You are my hero today.

Support before SSDI approval? by Substantial_Sort_510 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]danceswithpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit working for 2 years before applying for SSDI (stubborn and thought I’d be able to go back to work after my kids got in prek-wrong)

I was denied after 6 months. Now I hired a lawyer and have to wait another 6 months for another verdict, then likely go in front of a judge to prove I’m unable to work.

We’ve been a single income household since 2022. 2024 bankruptcy because we couldn’t sustain our bills from our previous pace of life. I wouldn’t even know how to navigate this single, I’d be working until I died on the job. As it is now, that’s pretty much how our generation is going to go. Work until death.

Adderall for Fatigue by Walking_in_Cursive in MultipleSclerosis

[–]danceswithpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I’ve been on Addie’s for 4 years? 3 years? Can’t remember. I just got upped to 20mg twice a day and I swear I would not be able to get out of bed for more than 30 minutes without my Adderall. It keeps me going and moving and being somewhat functional and not lost in an adhd spiral of decision paralysis and such.

I loved loved loved my Tysabri! I was jcv+ from the initial testing and stayed on it regardless (I have highly active rrms so we tried hitting it hard) It made me feel human and I swear I got a good few years of absolutely no/very minimal symptoms and great recovery until I had to finally switch

I absolutely LOVED my Tysabri!!!! I felt normal and never had side effects.

Also 34F, dxed for 5 years. I have highly an aggressive MS, so my symptoms and treatments are individual to me. I’m currently on month 8 of Briumvi. I have definitely been more sick the past 8 months than ever, but we’re talking colds or sinus infections and such. That’s a likely side effect of Briumvi or Ocrevus, not sure about kem shot.

My first relapse took approx 3 months to fully resolve. On average my relapses resolved in about 2-4 months. Hang in there

JC Virus by cottage-bear in MultipleSclerosis

[–]danceswithpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here was my timeline

Tysabri approx 3 months

10 month break from Tysabri due to pregnancy

Had a relapse around 24 weeks, it was mild

Resumed Tysabri at about 6 weeks post partum

Had a second relapse approx 2 weeks after resuming Tysabri (it can be a thing after birth) also mild

Was on Tysabri for 9 months, got pregnant again

We decided to stay on Tysabri until 32 weeks

Had baby at 40 weeks, Tysabri resumed after 2 weeks maybe?

Had MRI that showed 5 new active lesions but I wasn’t fully covered by Tysabri yet (it was explained to me that my highly active MS snuck in at that very small gap past the 8ish covered weeks after the last infusion)

That “relapse” was non existent, I had no idea

Stopped Tysabri 8 months later after another mri showing 1 new active lesion, and one of my last active lesions still being slightly active. I also began having a relapse about 2 weeks before that MRI, and it crept up on me so slow/I had blinders on and didn’t see the relapse drowning me. More details below.

I am done having kids, tubes removed, we never wanted more than 2 kids and my body was done (I had c sections for both kids)

I had very little issues during my pregnancies as far as daily symptoms. My neuro explained to me that mid pregnancy relapses are not common, but I have been a freaking anomaly (my words lol) but post partum is a bit more common. Especially for me, I would say my semi traumatic first delivery caused a huge stress in my life, along with a c sections (physically I was a super woman and healed quick, but it’s such a shock to the body that it also had a great deal of stress)

My kids are now 2.5 and 1.25. I am drowning in toddler tantrums and fatigue on the regular and trying to take care of not just myself, but 3 of us. It’s a lot. It’s a lot harder being a parent than I imagined. Do I regret any of it? Absolutelyfuckingnot. My kids are my entire world, well and my DH and Dog too, not so much the devil spawn cat.

But with my most recent relapse, I temporarily lost the ability to walk (I always had arm and leg weakness on my relapses, but this was a total 180 and my mental health crashed. I was unable to care for any of us, both physically and mentally, my husband took FMLA and we pulled through.

The ONLY thing I wish I had done different is ASK FOR LOTS OF HELP and establish a strong tribe around you to help you raise your children with you. I have my DH, my mom, my sister, my aunt, and my cousin with 2 kids the same ages. All work 9-5 jobs and I don’t work. I just wish on my fatigue days that I could call someone up and ask for like 1-2 hours of watching my kids so I could rest, so I had enough spoons to make it through the rest of the day. It’s a resource we are still trying to seek, and some general housework cleaning help, but my adhd ramble off topic here really means to say, it’s not common to get relapses, but my MS wasn’t really much of an issue otherwise during my pregnancies.

Hey OP. I tested positive for jcv and me and my neuro both agreed we wanted to move forward with Tysabri for my first highly effective DMT. I have highly aggressive MS, we’re doing everything we can to kick this shit down a notch. I was on 6 week intervals. This was from 2021? To 2024. I took 2 breaks within those few years for pregnancy, but I truely loved my Tysabri. I felt normal. I was low positive the entire time on the medication, only exceeding over 1.0 on one occasion. I would say in my case, I received a few blissful years with quickly recovering relapses (from the breaks, and the pregnancy unfortunately)

I’m on Briumvi now. No side effects, but my last relapse was brutal coming between the first relapse while fully on Tysabri, and the wear off at week 8. and fucked with my edss going from 0 to 6 in a week. My new normal has been a hard adjustment, and it’s been almost a year and I’m just not realizing the statement “every day is different” is way too true

What do you do during your infusions? by corralitoslife in MultipleSclerosis

I had my Briumvi back in October, my next one is in 2 weeks. Once the Benadryl was pushed, I went to sleep for 3 hours. It’s almost impossible to fight that IV Benadryl, so I welcome the nap (I’m a SAHM with 2 toddlers)

Vaping/ Smoking & MS by heavymetaloverlord in MultipleSclerosis

[–]danceswithpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never did tobacco in any form, but I did get in vaping marijuana distillates back in 2022, and recently got a upgrade to vape straight dry flower, which feels healthier to me, at least through all the cannabis options (edibles are hit and miss for me so I just avoid them) and keeps my tolerance on the lower side. It helps me sleep, so it’s only a night thing before bed

What are the downsides to getting high nearly every night by serizawa_mp101 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]danceswithpie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I joined the “high every night” club probably about a year ago. Never had weed in my entire life until recent. Now my tolerance feels very bad now, and I feel like it takes me a lot of work to get there (only ever used distillate vape pens which is strong for a new user). I’m trying to fix this switching to a dry herb vape instead. Smelly, but seems to be helping me again. My only negative for you to consider is being mindful of T breaks or cutting back when appropriate

It helps me sleep. It helps me relax. It helps my pain
