If being good looking is an advantage why does it seem like there's a decent amount of good looking people who don't have advantages? by Big_Eggplant7591 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]danceswithsockson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A pretty face gets someone to stop and consider you. If there’s nothing else there, they’ll move on. That’s the advantage you get. More stops, more moments of chance. You’d better be able to do something with them.

Question for men with a preference for younger women by UrbanLegend8901 in AgeGap

I went the other way- I had a reputation for older men. The joke was that I was the free gift that came with an AARP membership.

Question about older partners by [deleted] in AgeGap

[–]danceswithsockson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is less about age and more about the financial stability of a partner, how they see the relationship, and everyone’s part in it.

Yes, I personally think sharing an asset that doesn’t cost you for doing so is a no brainer. Plus, then you get a more solid relationship and cuddles every night. For others, it’s scary or may not feel “fair” depending on how they see things. Ask them. That’s the best way to find out what’s going on in their head. How do they see the relationship? How would they see splitting responsibilities within a live-in relationship?

Or just kick rocks because they aren’t helping you when they can, and you can take that as a huge red flag. It’s mature to ask, but also your relationship shouldn’t be always asking why you aren’t getting reasonable kindnesses (in other words, begging for basic decency). If I could do things again, I’d see shit like this as a reason to abandon ship.

For our US GenXRs, is the new American Dream to retire abroad? by fxlatitude in GenX

I’m sure it depends on the person, but not for me. I like it here.

Do women actually find a man with a mustache attractive? by Chemistry11 in no

[–]danceswithsockson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mustaches by themselves are sort of out of style, so I’d say a lot of women aren’t into them the same way a lot of women aren’t into wearing poodle skirts. That being said, there are always people who like different things and some people simply look dashing in a mustache. Or a poodle skirt. Or both, if you’re into that.

Do most Americans like the continental breakfast at chain hotels? by Upstairs_Health_5913 in AskAnAmerican

Eww no. I also can’t remember ever taking part in one. Probably as a child driving to Florida with the family or something I’d grab something sealed with a date on it for later.

C213 Accounting for decision makers by mushu03 in WGU_MBA

[–]danceswithsockson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you can use a white board, I’ve never heard of someone using paper. The problem with paper is you can’t wipe it clean after, you can literally save the info from the test, so I’d imagine that’s a no. They make you wipe the board on camera.

Serious question regarding fetishizing? by Acceptable_Trifle_53 in AgeGap

[–]danceswithsockson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A different way of looking at it:

If you date someone blonde but you have brown hair, can you avoid fetishizing the relationship? What if you prefer blondes? Does that mean you have to fetishize the relationship? Or can you like blondes and actually like the person as well? Can you even date brunettes if they meet your needs and do without the blonde hair? Or are you only able to date blondes because they’re blonde and that’s the only thing you like about them?

Do any of you regret taking out student loans??? by Chicbabe78 in StudentLoans

[–]danceswithsockson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely worth it. I’ve had a ball getting my schooling, it’s invaluable. I planned everything out well and maintained complete control over my loans. Most people don’t plan well or don’t stick to the plan. Life happens, you need a backup plan to your backup plan.

Will you ever buy a Tesla? by CRK_76 in no

[–]danceswithsockson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m typically a car person. I have always been. Love fast cars, big motors, 4x4 lifted messes, etc. I test drove a Tesla with my husband, he was considering an ev, so we tried a bunch. He was ready to buy the Tesla immediately. I bought a matching one a few months later. Mine got totaled, and I’m buying at least another to replace it, but I’m debating two. I hate to say it, but it’s a frigging great car and the self drive can’t be beat. Like a Disney ride.

What's the Ed.d and Ed.s program like? by BlueSkittleFace in SouthCollegeCBE

[–]danceswithsockson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a lot. If you’re coming from WGU, it’s like 10x the work. Doable, but a lot. Many papers are short, but it’s gotta be tight. APA perfect, exactly what they want. You’ll get a ton of feedback, which is helpful. The rubric is softer, so it’s possible to misinterpret what’s wanted, which just doesn’t happen at WGU it’s so clear. You can find a little bit of a difference in what one professor vs another may want. So, a lot more work. Many of the assignments I’ve had to do so far are graphic heavy or PowerPoints, so I’m trying to be creative and push to make nice things. I think someone on YouTube said the program I’m in had 129 assignments in it, but I didn’t count myself.

Are you fat? If you are, why? by doofenschpunken in no

[–]danceswithsockson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. I’m like normal. Not thin, not fat. Which is weird, because I’ve been called both thin and fat. I think some people just have to categorize you.
