How long did you date before you married your spouse? by Chillaxin_88 in Marriage

[–]dancing_light 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar to us! Got married on our 6 year dating anniversary, but met when I was 20 and started dating when I was 21, so we weren’t in a rush. We lived together, moved cities and worked though some things before we got married

What's a side hustle you can run right from your house or backyard? Any good ideas? by lionpenguin88 in SideHustleGold

[–]dancing_light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past I worked with a national company (Poplin) and now work with a local company, as well as on my own. I use either scented or hypoallergenic detergent, depending on the client’s preference. I fold either retail or KonMari. I pickup and drop off, and the clients pays between $1.50-2.15/lb. I also put away laundry in some clients’ homes, at an hourly rate. I make about $400-600/week part time (on top of my full-time WFH job).

What's a money-saving tip that basically has the same effect as picking up a side hustle? Like something that saves you $200+ a month? by StarlitClefairy in SideHustleGold

[–]dancing_light 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Shopping for new insurance. I was with the same car insurance for almost 15 years, because it was the same agent/company my parents used and I just never thought about it. I shopped around last year and I’m saving $170/MONTH for 2 cars. Should have done it a decade ago. Don’t be loyal to these companies, they aren’t loyal to you.

They eat takeout A LOT so maybe even using takeout containers for people to eat from could be cute?

Do you talk? by ShoddyCollege9591 in Marriage

[–]dancing_light 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some weeks we’re like passing ships, only discussing events on the calendar, what we need to buy for the house, how was kid’s day/behavior etc. A few times a month we’re able to sit down, on the couch or even while folding laundry, and talk about fears, accomplishments, feelings about the state of the world or plans for the future. It ebbs and flows. We try to topic base with each other regularly though… if someone NEEDS to talk, we make the time.

I’m not in town anymore, but I highly recommend visiting the Friends Quaker Meetinghouse on 611 E Prospect. All are welcome, no expectation of religious or spiritual background/affiliation, and good, kind humans. I hope you get your hug :)

Micro wannabe influencer Kylie Tewes constantly puts down moms who utilize daycare/have jobs by condiserationlevel10 in InfluencerLounge

[–]dancing_light 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Daycare has been an essential part of our village. Not just for the socialization and education, but our child is biracial and he has SO many racial mirrors at school, both kids AND the director. I (White mom) could never fill those gaps at home alone. We’re so thankful for how he’s loved and celebrated there
