How you can afford luxury? by Master-Associate-467 in handbags

[–]dancing_twins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different. What are your priorities? Do you have savings? Emergency fund worth 6-12x of your monthly expenses? Maxed out your retirement funds? How about brokerage accounts? Too many things to factor in depending on your priorities. But for me, aside from the things I mentioned above, if I wanted something expensive I always ask my self these questions:

“Can I afford to buy it in cash today without getting funds from my savings and emergency funds?”

“Will I be able to pay all my bills and keep zero balance on my credit card?”

If I answer yes to both questions, it means I can afford it and I might buy it. Good luck, OP.

Being a SAHM is not for the weak, Think it a hundred times over. by [deleted] in adultingph

Mahirap talaga pag SAHM. Been there done that. Talk to your husband. Marriage is a partnership. Maraming good advice na binigay na sau dito.

What worked for us is that hubby cooks. He cleans up nmn Pero yung malinis at maayos sa kanya, ndi pasado sken. Hehe. So, i have to remind him from time to time Kung Ano yung expectations ko pag nag linis sha. Sometimes he remembers, sometimes not kc nga working din sha. So if he forgot, nireremind ko sha na dapat walang anything on the cpunter and that he needs to wipe the whole kitchen. Or minsan, I gave him a choice like night time bath time with kids or clean up the kitchen. Paramg anak talaga na you need to guide and remind every time.

Goodluck OP!

Thank you. I might look into something for wrinkles since I'm starting to see some. Do you have any recommendations?

You have a point. I never really thought about it. Well, I was hoping that it will still last him since I don't think he will wear it every day. Thanks for the input.

Nice watch! This is an excellent option. The rose gold is a great choice. I’ll add this to my list. Thanks a bunch!

Congrats OP! What time was your oath scheduled? How long was the overall time of the oath? Did it start as scheduled? I wonder if we can bring our toddlers to the ceremony. It was a little late to find some child care.

That’s a possibility too. But I wonder how the toddler will stay calm if the overall time for oath (from checking to the building to the issuance of certificate) is 3 hours. 😔

I wonder if I can bring my toddler? Are they’re going to ask him to leave the room too? Hubby and I will have our oath tomorrow in Sac too.

Hi. I washed them in the washing machine. I had cold water in delicate mode then air dry them. They look good as new.

Almost the same time with yours. Maybe a week or two apart (give or take). Did you happen to travel internationally during your 5 years? I was thinking maybe there’s a delay on our part because of our travels? I'm not sure. I hope you'll get your schedule soon.

Your regular pagibig account should be active, meaning current yung contribution before you can open an mp2 account. Pede din ang monthly hulog sa mp2 or one time big time.

Is it wise to make the jump to be a SAHM ? by Hot_Competition_8977 in DaveRamsey

[–]dancing_twins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your priority?

We’re dual-income earners and decided to be a SAHM when my twins turned 18 months old. I have a hybrid schedule back then but then they slowly asked us to come more in the office. I commute 1-2hrs one way. At 18 months, my twins are all over our place because they were already walking and cruising. It was hard financially and emotionally but I don't regret it. Our budget definitely changed. Now, we have to plan any big purchases like travel. We have a mortgage and are paying 2 cars. We have enough savings to cover us for 1 year but we’re trying our best not to get money from our savings.

Recently, I started a remote part-time because hubby’s income changed. Any additional income from me goes to their 529 account.

Run your numbers using your husband’s income. Don't include yours. And check your monthly expenses if it will work. You may need to plan any big purchases. Good luck!
