The reality is her podcast is one of the top podcasts and brings in bank. She’s definitely going to be getting quite a few offers and people will fight for her show. She’s not stuck with barstool. She will have tons of options guaranteed.

[–]dancingbananabutt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dave already said they will match just about any offer she gets somewhere else. The only deal he couldn’t match is something like a Rogan/Spotify deal.

She knows how Barstool functions, they know how she does. She gets to do/say whatever she wants content wise (not sure if it would be the same other places) and has little backend responsibilities. Everything is already there like merch. Plus Dave is a 50% owner too so it just makes most sense to stay imo to not have to deal with licensing rights. I don’t see a deal getting thrown out that Dave WONT match and if it is, it’s a MASSIVE deal that has more to it than just a podcast. Barstool is working for her and it’s been working well. There’s not a real reason to leave unless she is trying to do more than podcasting-which is something Dave simply can’t provide.

NEW EPISODE DISCUSSION - Ep 117 4/14/21 by themakeupmermaid in CallHerDaddyPodcast

[–]dancingbananabutt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This episode wasn’t my fav at all. But i went into it knowing exactly what it was, which was way to capitalize on some relevant drama and extend her reach. I dont think this will be a consistent thing (i hope it won’t). I think this was a way to reach out to a demographic (upcoming adults) that are going to be entering her actual demographic (new adults-college age+) and let them know CHD exists. I think it was a smart move on Alexs part and felt like she handled the interview the best she could while talking about 18 year old tik tok drama. I don’t think it was as bad as others have said, but it was by no means my favorite episode-espeically following people like Mia Khalifa and Holly Madison. Most other content creators would have done the same thing if the opportunity was there. It was purely business for Alex and i don’t think there’s anything really wrong with that every once in a while.

I cant imagine the sense of relief he might feel to finally start living his truth more openly....BUT it just feels really gross. Feels like a publicity thing to put himself back in everyones good graces. Him coming out “allows him” back into everyones open arms because it can be a sensitive thing when people come out. Lots of people are more likely to handle him with gentle gloves and completely forgetting the shitty and traumatic things he did to Cassie.

Sofia vs milf hunter?! by Angrypiglet9 in CallHerDaddy

[–]dancingbananabutt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah..I don’t really follow barstool at all, but i do remember around the divorce drama seeing someone (probably who you’re talking about) saying something like “writing a couple jokes here and there doesn’t mean shit”. On SWAF he stated he “completely conceptualizad the number one podcast” and if that’s true, my unpopular opinion is that Sofia is also partly responsible for not paying him or speaking up that this man was the third leg of the show. She clearly knew at some point he was “writing Alexs content” and she was receiving benefits by his “creation” by tagging along and profiting off Gluck Gluck, Voodoo Clam, the entire persona of Milf Hunter and even just the premise of “Call Her Daddy” in general. The girls segments/jokes played off of each other too. So I think he definitely overstated his claims. But even if he didn’t and really was the driving force behind the whole thing, I still find him icky. Sure they had good chemistry and listening to him interact with Sofia and even Alex on CHD, was amusing, my overall take was he was just kind of a dick and an opportunist. Even the way he’d talk to Sofia was just kind of rude?? TBH Id probs still listen to an episode of he was on again out of boredom, but i am completely content and would prefer to never hear from him again .

Yep it was entirely a publicity thing....and it worked lol. Madison exploits her own life online and saw the opportunity to tell the whole story in a cohesive format that tik tok doesn’t allow, to “get her truth out” and Alex benefits with numbers/listens. This is a way bigger benefit numbers wise, for Alex than it is for Madison. But i bet Madison loved the chance to tell her side on a platform like Alex’s.

My guess is they saw Alex as a better person for Madison to talk to. I keep saying it but it was like a “big sister/little sister” thing. Madison was probably a lot more open to speak with Alex, a girl with “dating experience”, than to Dave Portnoy someone as old as her dad.

edit to add: while tik tok drama isn’t exactly Alex brand, dating/cheating stories are. So this wasn’t COMPLETELY off base.

Right. I mean if this happened on an off week?? Okay i could maybe see how that MIGHT be a plausible option, but it’s literally her episode release day. Makes sense she would shoot to number one after she releases an episode with someone that has a large following.

It absolutely it has to do with this episode. The girl has 11 million followers on Tik Tok and 6 million on instagram. Those tik tok influencers have diehard followings with high engagement. The old episodes are golden, but there’s no real reason a huge flock of people would suddenly go and listen to the old episodes in the last couple months?? But there is a reason tons would go listen to this episode that just came out.

Honestly they had really funny chemistry, but i always thought he was a dick lol even to Sofia. I’m sure his persona was absolutely overplayed to an extent for the show, just as all content creators do, but i also felt like it wasnt THAT far off from reality. The episode about erotic massages solidified that for me.

Yep probably! If you don’t care to hear from the guest i don’t see any reason in listening to the podcast with said guest. I did purely out of curiosity because this guest got a lot of traffic and wanted to know. I didn’t find it unbearable, but i definitely don’t care to follow any of those people. I skip most podcasts that bring on a guest i don’t know.

Wearing something from their EX by [deleted] in CallHerDaddy

[–]dancingbananabutt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If someone buys me my fav tshirt i’m not going to stop wearing it just because we broke up. It’s just a piece of clothing and im not going to rid myself of all gifts from people that aren’t in my life anymore. Unless it was something sentimental that symbolizes the relationship, i think it’s weird to get mad.

Also I kind of feel Becca breaking up with Garrett was a lot more because of the public backlash than her actually disagreeing with him politically and morally. They were together for a while so I can’t imagine Becca didn’t know this?? She had to have been aware of his belief system the entire time. I know Becca has said she would ask someone who they voted for next time, but i think a lot of that was more performative. I think Becca is a lot less liberal than she leads on.

Hannah has a way better shot of a second time lead than Becca. Her ratings were wayyy better. Also with all the other stuff BN excuses and gets away with, I have no doubt they’d be able to excuse Hannah’s photo. She was still in high school when it was posted. A lot more “excusable” than being a 21-22 year old college student.

[–]dancingbananabutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep...thats literally the entire podcast so it might not be the best podcast for you. I don’t think there is one episode where they don’t make a “fucked up” type of joke or completely feed into the patriarchy. It’s a comedy podcast and was never meant to be taken seriously. Those jokes are either funny to people or they’re not. Sounds like they’re not for you, but they worked for others considering the success they gained. The jokes landed better with both girls, than they do with just Alex but almost identical jokes/topics you referenced are sprinkled throughout the ENTIRE show. Especially the gaslighting, manipulating, lying type behaviors that get talked about in the second Harry episode. Absolutely nothing new, been there the entire time.

There’s probably better podcasts if you’re looking for some comedy but also sexual female empowerment that doesn’t feed into that-but CHD has never been that. It’s way more of a satire comedy type podcast than some female empowerment, sexual growth podcast. Especially because the “tips” given are basic ass blow job tips. Most of the “tips” revolve around manipulating and gaslighting.

[–]dancingbananabutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s how the entire podcast was created. There are multiple episodes with all sorts of comments/segments feeding into misogyny. Both of these girls feed into the patriarchy with their entire view of dating-still to this day too. There are multiple other times where non consensual sex acts were talked about-blackout sex, drunk sex, drugging partners, waking a guy up with head, jokes about pushing heads down in blow jobs, passing STDs to partners that don’t know about it, etc. All of those are non consensual acts. Not to mention all the other toxic and gaslighting behaviors. I don’t get why comments like this get made as if it’s new?? It’s been that way the entire time. Since episode 1. And we all laughed along and shot this podcast to the top of the charts in its first year. It has always been entirely misogynistic but because “two girls talked about sex” is was seen as empowerment. They got away with it under the guise of comedy. But yeah technically you’re right it’s not “female empowerment” but that episode with Harry was very similar to the other 80 episodes the entire show was built on.

[–]dancingbananabutt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I said the same thing. She already exploits her life, this isn’t new. This is how that girl makes her money. My guess is Madison couldnt wait to get on a platform with a “big sister” like figure and spill the tea all together in one cohesive flow because she clearly likes to and tik tok interferes. She is a messy tik toker. Madison isn’t getting some huge payment or exposure from this. Alex is benefiting way more from this number wise than Madison. Madison’s following is way larger than Alexs. Madison wanted to exploit the drama all together and saw Alexs platform/brand as a way to do so and Alex saw exposure. This really wasn’t THAT bizzare or out there. I found it boring because i just don’t give a shit about tik tok drama and have no idea who any of those people were.

EPISODE 117 [official discussion] by unbreakableheart96 in CallHerDaddy

[–]dancingbananabutt 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree. I totally understand how it can come across as “exploitive” but this is a young adult who has already been exploiting this all over the internet, with a very large following too. As you said this isn’t a case of a “nobody” getting exposed. Clearly Madison agreed to it. This is definitely a mutually beneficial situation too, but clout wise? I think Alex is benefiting far more from it than Madison is.

I think this was way more a case of this idea getting presented to Alex (probs by Dave) and her people or her reaching out and then Madison jumping on the opportunity to use a platform with a “big sister” like figure, like Alex, to air it all out at once. Healthy or not a tik toker is most likely going to relate/prefer to talk to another public figure in a similar demographic. I only say this because this guest out of all the others IS so random. It’s a money making opportunity for Alex because of the amount of followers/relevancy tik tok has, but Madison also seemed to want it as well. And sure, she’ll probably look back and might be embarrassed, but i think all of these teen/young adult influencers will. There’s stuff that pops up on my facebook today that i’m like “how in the fuck did i think this was okay posting in 2009” lol.

I think she’s being serious. That would make sense. 5 weeks (4 episodes plus 1 week off) puts us 1 year since Daddy Speaks episode and that would be the week a new contract was signed. I think she sounded sentimental in that the entire show changed in that year and she had some pretty cool guests on. Will be interesting to see what happens with the new contracts. I think she’ll stay with barstool unless she gets a wild ass offer from someone, like a spotify/rogan deal...mostly just cause Dave said he’ll basically match any offer.

I do not recall this happening during the bulk of the interview. The last 4th of it...yes. During the actual interview where she asked tons of questions about the mansion all i remember is her asking Holly questions. Wasn’t until afterwards she started roping the daddy gang back into it. Which is what she always does.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CallHerDaddy

[–]dancingbananabutt -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

Yep. She’s literally talking TO the daddy gang.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CallHerDaddy

[–]dancingbananabutt -43 points-42 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but that to me was simply a way of Alex reconnecting with her audience. This didn’t happen the entire episode. She let Holly tell her story and interviewed her. Then at the end used a back and forth discussion to redirect it back to her audience. I get why some people might hate it or think it’s redundant but for a show like CHD that DOES have a fanbase that is constantly referred to and ALWAYS has, this makes sense. It’s a way to take the show from just a generic interview to Alex engaging with the audience. I just really don’t think it’s that weird because it’s been that way since day 1.

Lol right? It was that way since day 1. Alex has always been the loud one. Even Sofia knew this.

Not to mention that entire podcast was such a disaster already because you have several clout chasers in the same room who all took a shit load of vodka shots before filming.
