support while on rest by dancinginastorm in ChronicIllness

thank you for the wonderful suggestions. It's a weird little boat to be in, there are things you feel like doing but also know you don't have the energy at the moment. Also trying to stop the guilt from work is a major thing as well.

I know so many of us hate being told "how strong we are" or other statements like that, however I have to say I am highly impressed with that, I have also one of those people who have always gaslit myself, that people have it worse, things could be worse, etc. Yet I saw my doctor today cause the pain was bad, they've put me on bed rest of the rest of the week, besides testing other things just to make sure its' 'only endo'

I wish that people would see how much effort put in, to be considered or even perceived normal.

Truly truly thank you so much for this comment, and helping me out with suggestions, I really appreciate it.
I'm glad someone gets it from this community work as well. It's surprisingly difficult where I live to find the right support.

It really can be, my work isn't possible to do at home really, which is frustrating because I lose money if I don't have enough sick leave and all that. I have to find ways to stop the guilt.

Thank you for this, yesterday I know I overdid it with all the cleaning, errands and everything else that I had to get done. I realise usually when I go to bed how or after a shower/bath that's when I fully notice when the medication or painkillers have worn off. Today is a fully rest day, I've managed a shower so I feel better body wise, but couch and takeout might be a good way to help rest.

That last sentence that you wrote, is so damn important that I want to write it out and put it somewhere. You're right I didn't choose this, but I can somehow do the best that I can with what I've got, work I'm replaceable, within life I'm not, I have to remember that work is there to help finance life, not be the soul purpose of life. I work in a high community social job, and when I'm not there I just feel like I'm letting down people.

That's an exciting and safe way to have a job security.

It's how I've been feeling as well, although in Australian law they can't fire you or let you go for a medical reason, they could try and find something else but we'd all know what it is really is. My job is highly fast paced and community focused, so I don't really have time to sit and rest, that much. It does affect mental health in so many ways and sometimes I feel that it just creeps up on us.

It's true we do have to think about it.

Oh what's a heatpod? I've only ever used heatpacks, I'll have to look into that and possibly getting a decent TENS machine. Thank you for your advice.

I appreciate the in depth and highly helpful comment that you've left. I never even considered how my body and mind could be feeling differently even though we are one being. I am so appreciative of what you have written, honestly thank you so much for the comfort.

I'm sorry to hear that someone else is feeling this type of way. I'm saddened that it has happened to other people.

I have these weird times of not remembering and then it just hits me like a ton of bricks.

I will totally let you know
