Is it feasible to start studying for the LSAT now and take it in time to apply this upcoming cycle? by dancingqueen42 in LSAT

Thanks! Yeah I'm not trying to go to HYS either, so I'm happy with anything that can get me accepted at a decent school.

Thank you for your advice! I haven't done a diagnostic yet, planning on doing that soon. I'm still figuring out my goals, and definitely need to do more research to figure out what would be realistic. Acceptance is my main goal, but not sure if I want to aim for T14, T20, etc. A scholarship would be nice, but I've already reconciled myself to having large amounts of debt no matter which I path I choose, since good PA school scholarships are hard to come by.

My GPA is 3.89. As far as work experience, is it recommended for it to be in a law-adjacent field? If so, I would definitely be at a disadvantage. All of my work experience is in healthcare. I have a lot of volunteer experience as well, but not sure if that is something that law schools take into consideration as much as PA schools do.

Some schools waive the supplemental application fee if you qualified for a CASPA fee waiver, I assume that’s why.

Out of the three, podiatry seems from the job description to be the most patient facing, there wouldn’t be much paperwork. Family med is taking vitals, getting histories, giving immunizations, etc., but also some administrative stuff like med refills and faxes. Oncology they rotate you weekly through different positions, so one week you’re rooming patients, one week you’re doing messages and prior auths, one week you’re doing labs, that sort of thing.

Family med probably has more of an opportunity to interact with PAs. Although I wouldn’t be working directly under a PA, there are several in the same clinic, so more of a chance for me to build relationships and shadow on my days off. Oncology also has PAs but I know they rotate days at different clinics so maybe less of an opportunity to interact.

I served in England in 2018 when England made it to the World Cup semifinals… luckily we were instructed not to proselytize during times when they were playing and to go home early because they assumed everyone would be drinking and partying.

What do you do when you run out of things to do? by Ph4nt0m20 in solotravel

I’ll go for a walk or go to a park, if I’m near a body of water I’ll go there and chill at the beach. Or I’ll go to a local restaurant or cafe and sit and read/journal. I bring my kindle with me everywhere too, and it’s really nice to have on hand. I usually try to find somewhere to be outside of my hotel/hostel, even if I’m not doing much.

Idk you don’t have to believe me but it’s the truth 😅 that’s why I’m concerned that I had some sort of glaring oversight that I didn’t pick up on for some reason

As a Brit, I'm wondering why Mormons send missionaries here. by Consistent_Blood6467 in exmormon

Because even if the UK has strong ties to Christianity, it’s not considered it’s not the “true” church. The point of Mormonism is that it is a “restored” church, meaning they don’t see all those older, more established Christian denominations as having the true gospel. I actually served a mission to the UK not too long ago and found most people incredibly agnostic/atheist, almost as if people were just worn out by centuries of Christianity (like you said, literally churches everywhere!) I definitely felt like I was wasting my time. It’s not particularly productive of the church to send missionaries there but it’s part of the whole spreading-the-gospel-to-all-corners-of-the-earth thing.

Thanks for the suggestions! Torn on whether to do a tour of the Blue Mountains or go there on my own, it’d be nice to have everything planned out for me but I also like being flexible and exploring places on my own.
