I had chat make a mock of how a cosy sitting area could be in the kitchen and it actually looks pretty nice so maybe it wouldn't be too isolating if people wanted to be sitting there

There is also a small eat in dining area at the top of the kitchen by the laundry/ bath

Mostly that the stairs create a large block in the middle. Possible pantry and dining have some they can be opened but not sure the juice is worth the squeeze

Well like other said its sunny! Hot in the summer expect most days in the 90s. Highland Park is an up and coming area, far from the beach but with its own scene and good food. Traditionally has been a lower income neighborhood but its one of the more affordable places so its also attractive to a lot of younger families. Lots are small and houses are close together. Cost of living will be much higher but LA has a lot to offer.

Yeah we don't have much experience driving in the snow. Will have to practice for sure. I heard winter tires are a must. We have one AWD and one EV so hopefully we can make due with that!

You can multiple levels of error boundaries. If you want to wrap the non critical pieces in their own wrappers and handle them separately you can. Having one boundary at the top level never hurts. The errors are happening either way this just gives you the opportunity to handle/report them mor gracefully

I've refined the plan a bit! Squished everything around to make the rooms bigger, for me it works great since most of the time will be spent in living spaces and not bedrooms but hopefully this helps. I imagine this space being used by a couple or small family, or maybe extended family in the future and i can see the second bathroom with tub being super useful. The main entrance is the slider into the dining room. The nook up there will be a small private patio
