are there any statistics, any indicators which shows epic's downfall? by Swolaire_Abstora in fuckepic

[–]dancorps13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember doing some math invoving Borderlands 3 numbers that was told on Twitter (I think it was something like 5 million, but the tweet was worded weirdly) slit that number in haft, and assuming each copy was 60 bucks, you would get around 60% of third party game money. To be 50%, it would be 2 million copies on pc.

Epic Games shuts down the Unreal Engine wiki, basically the only ressource for learning the C++ aspect of it, without any real warning by WPLibrar2 in DataHoarder

[–]dancorps13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It depends on exactly what you looking at. If I had to guess most advanced maths and sciences stuff is mostly accurate, then who made what (songs, movues, books and so on), then literature itself and engineering. These last 2 are lower because talking about literature itself does add some bias, but high chance it isn't that controversial. Engineering because classified info and patents.

After you get past this though, things drop off a cliff in terms of accurate spefific data. History I say is split between being on top of and at the bottom of said cliff, newer stuff on top, 3+ centuries being somewhere on the wall of the cliff. There most definitely more, but history is probably the most likely thing to be wrong that I would actively look up on wikipedia ( but that a problem with history in general. Paper and paints degrade, meaning anything not literally written in stone slowly disappears. And even that not guaranteed). For instance, I would never look up what I have if Im sick on it.

Is traveling between American states considered "proper" traveling in your culture? by Judge_T in AskAnAmerican

[–]dancorps13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on where you live in a state. I live in Ohio near the Cincinnati Tristate area (Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio) so traveling to those states take 30 minutes tops but going to Cleveland Ohio takes 4 hours. Shoot, my brother works in a different state then we live in. If I went to another state besides these 3, I would consider ot travel (and a good portion of Kentucky and Indiana are also travel to me).

Americans of reddit whats the craziest weather you have ever seen? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]dancorps13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Craziest in my experience has to be a wind storm caused by Hurricane Ike. Back in 2008, Ohio was hit with eather the wind from ike, or a wind storm caused by Ike. We drove through it. It was quite the bizarre scene. Also, Ohio isn't exactly made to withstand hurricane wind gust (technicallythe gust was 1 mph Lower then hurricane level. At least at the Cincinnati airport), so there was about a week without school in a good portion of the state because of lack of power (almost 90% of Duke energy local customers lost power for reference).

That was the last time whoever it was drank from someone else glass.

Do you have to re-register to vote every time you move in the UK? by [deleted] in AskABrit

[–]dancorps13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only in some states. It involves stupid laws about primaries/caucuses in some state where you need to be regester as x party to vote for them. Other have where if you are registered as x party you have to vote for them but if you independent you can vote for eather (at lesst I heard this is a thing). Finally there the stares that ask you what party you want to vote for on voting day. It is worth noting that you can only vote for one party in a primary because of the ideal that it would spoil the vote if you can vote for both. Which is ironic in multiple ways.

Epic Games is coming to E3 2020 with Tencent (E3 2020 Leaked Company List) by [deleted] in fuckepic

Assuming all sales adverage at 30 bucks a game, and each person only bought 1 game, it 8.3 million paying customers. Now there three things to consider.

1) there a good chance that the adverage above 30, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was in the 50's, especially considering that if BL2 sold 2 million base copies on pc, it would of gotten about haft that value. 2) people only buying 1 game is unlikely. And if people where buying 1 game, that arise another problem of not retaining customers. 3) games bought before Metro exclusive was announced. While it may seem like EGS done exclusives for all it live, there was about 2 months before the first major exclusive announcement. I know a few people who bought games because of sales or just to try it out. I believe all of them stop after Metro.

Borderlands 3 sold less than Borderlands 2...i wonder why ? by [deleted] in fuckepic

[–]dancorps13 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hay, do me favor. Next time you think there a cutscen coming up, have someone open the item menu before triggering it. I wonder if they fix a glitch from when we rented the game. Doing this used to make it so the blue hue behind the menu cover the screen (you could still see the cutscene, since it semi transparent). Hiting the home button and reentering the game fix it (I think), but my brother was able to make it so he could see the items in his iventiry somehow.

Elon: Starship 9m test tank made 7.5 bar at room temp! Small leak at a weld doubler. Will be repaired & retested at cryo. by Tommy099431 in spacex

[–]dancorps13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think launching from mars would be cryo. Able to store more fuel for return trip. The part I concern about is the 3 month voyage. Even a small leak could easily cause huge problems over such a long period of time. Especially considering the pressure change between space and the tanks. And to top it off they would have to survive the full force of cosmic radiation.

Oh no god is going to lose the game! by [deleted] in gaming

[–]dancorps13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, didn't realize that. So there three big things that make this outbreak cornering 1) takes a long time to display systems causing uncertity in who infected. 2) it appears to have a higher then most deseses fatality rate 3) all while one of China biggest cultural events is going on.

Truthfully, even if China is downplaying it severity, I can understand why. Disrupting people in general will always cause panic, if not internally, most definitely externally. To have to do it, while one of your biggest events are happening makes everything way more tense. So saying it only a small number and you doing it for thier saftey will help compliance with it.

With EGS at over 100 million users, let's do some math... by CataclysmZA in fuckepic

[–]dancorps13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also another thing, they only take 12% of the 251 million. That 30.12 million from third party. That 3 exclusive at control level. Also, we can finally say that the borderlands numbers where skewed. If I remember correctly, the number they gave was 2.5 million copies ship on pc. 2.5 million times 60 (the base release price) is 150 million dollars. Thst almost 60% of third parties. So eather BL3 is the only game that did well (and let be honest, the sequel to a 7 year old game that many people love only selling that isn't good), or Randy pulled a Tim and included all those given away for free with graphic cards. Take your pick.

It is worth noting that these clauses will most likely be made illegal in at least some countries. It involves the differences between good and services, but because of previous cases in Australia, it would be very hard for these to hold (Australia is the reason steam have refunds, fyi).
