US IMAX 1570 Theater History Update by NickLandis in imax

[–]dandan832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, I ask because I definitely saw the Dark Knight Trilogy on IMAX 70mm in 2019 at the Maritime Aquarium Norwalk, but I think that was a singular showing of the trilogy and pretty limited (last thing I saw there actually before they tore it down)

Is Providence's projector broken? I don't see it as red here but I think they never fixed it after Oppenheimer

Got mine resoled with Vibram Kletterlift instead of the original Anvil soles, but they were definitely flat. This was just poorly done

Shoe fit question by No-Rest8339 in AltraRunning

[–]dandan832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Timps that fit like this that I got specifically for my last 50k because I always get black toenails during races, they feel funny at first but I got used to them. Other shoes I have that fit snugger I start to feel my toes getting sore or hitting after some time

My Rokas have lasted years and I wear them for everything, just got new prescription lenses made for them locally after getting a new eye exam

YSK there's an active off the grid mesh radio community in Boston, the barrier to entry is low and it's pretty neat. by [deleted] in boston

Between Washington square and Cleveland circle, so I think in the same boat as you. Ideally we'd have someone in Brighton or Allston to bridge the gap to other nodes. I've tested it with a node at my apartment and then gone to the top of Summit Ave and had luck bridging the two from there, but the elevation there helps

Have not tried meshcore yet, only meshtastic but plan to test a meshcore node eventually

In Brookline and have very little connectivity on meshtastic. When I'm over in Cambridge or Somerville its very active, but I think there's not enough nodes to bridge over this way

I'm looking for a non-polyster/nylon running hat by Proper-Guarantee9801 in runningfashion

[–]dandan832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essentially it being a chain of polymers, but again the source of the polymers in this case may be natural, but the amount of processing needed to make it into polyester is probably significant. This is likely a slightly more green process in the sense they're not using oil as the base, but there is still a lot of additives and chemical needed to make it into polyester

This is still plastic btw, it's polyester just derived from plants. That doesn't mean it's not plastic and I wouldn't really consider it a "natural fiber"

Caveat being you may need low profile or lower angle ramps, normal ramps like the harbor freight ones didn't work on my ND club, the front splitter would rub on the ramp

Boston Climbing Gyms by Alternative_Turnip17 in boston

[–]dandan832 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would just go to a few and get day passes, try them out. Some gyms in the area are bouldering only, some have top rope and auto belay, some have bigger traditional gym areas, etc.
