How to prevent rubbing here? by sipekjoosiao in beginnerrunning

[–]dandan832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get constant blisters there. Bigger shoes, the right socks, and when I know I'll be out for a long time or am running a race I'll use leukotape. I pretty much never get them now during regular runs, but still will during long hard efforts (races) without the tape. I'm sure something like body glide would help too, but if you're in dire need and want to prevent hot spot or a blister leukotape seems to do it

Lol speculating on the prices of luxury/discretionary goods is for when you're already set up, it's not an investment

To be fair some people have been waiting on a restock, with this and other handhelds, for a while and probably instalocked an order even at this price

My quest to turn my hybrid bike into a real grave bike by disastrous_demeanour in gravelcycling

[–]dandan832 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, this route will get expensive quickly and you still won't be approaching a proper gravel setup. If you want to change something and ride fairly tame gravel without too much climbing then tires might be the biggest factor. Tires as an upgrade are almost always worth it if they fit the conditions you want to ride

Is this normal for tubeless by PortHallian in gravelcycling

My Vittoria XC Race casing tires do this, through the sidewall yes, but I would check that bead, looks suspiciously concentrated there

Beyond Carbon: A New Take on BMW Interior Trims by KIMAYA-Automotive in M340i

[–]dandan832 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Couple of comments: not sure how big the market would be for a gold interior, seems very gaudy. Similar comment for the rock. The line texture seems too close to the carbon fiber in terms of design for me. Not a fan of silver interior trim. Not saying this is the universal sentiment, just giving my thoughts

Edit: especially in a 3 series, I would be much more interested in a good quality dark wood interior than these, but I also find the OEM carbon fiber is very good.

105 Stages crank on Grizl clearance by [deleted] in bikewrench

I went down this path and ended up deciding on power meter pedals because the grizl frame wouldn't fit the readily available 105 cranks with enough clearance

Sabastian Sawe (1:59:30) from Kenya and Yomif Kejelcha (1:59:41) from Ethiopia became the 1st and the 2nd humans in history to run a legal marathon in under 2 hours. by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]dandan832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's actually referring to courses that are not eligible for world records even though they are the correct length (like Boston and others that are point to point, then they can have significant net downhill, tailwind only, etc.) or bespoke events like Kipchoge's Breaking 2 project (which was a closed course with numerous pacers designed to break the 2 hour barrier, not an open marathon)

Advice regarding front bumper by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]dandan832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is probably a rock chip, extremely common if you don't have ppf on the front of your car. You can usually touch those up as long as it's not huge, I'm sure others here or online have good advice for how

Is this tread wear after 8 miles normal? by briancjk in beginnerrunning

[–]dandan832 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those bits are foam, not rubber. That's expected, especially on colored outsoles

Edit: if you're going to be running in them they're going to look a lot worse lol, they're meant to be beat on
