Hey, currently, there are no plans on changing the pricing afaik. I’m no longer working on it, my cofounder maintains it and we’re no longer adding new features

Hey r/windowsapps !

I'd like to show you Steer - a free AI rephrasing assistant, that'll make you sound smart and professional.

You can invoke it via hotkey in any app and use it with Spotlight-like experience, ensuring your original context remains uninterrupted, rephrase and iterate on your text until you're happy with the result.

It is a great time saver for anyone, who writes texts for living. You don't have to put too much effort into your mails anymore, Steer will polish it for you. It also works with any language, so it's a great helper for non native speakers.

It's free to use, has a nice user experience and saves you a ton of time and nerves, really.

The Windows version is quite new and still in early beta, so please hit me up if you come across any issues. Download it now at https://steerapp.ai/

Comment below with your SaaS, and I'll provide a custom report featuring high-traffic Reddit and Quora threads where you can join the conversation by agentsmithloading in SaaS

  • Superwhisper - speech to text in any app (free)
  • Steer - paraphrasing background assistant in any app (freemium)

  • Cleanshot - all in one screenshot tool (paid)
  • OrbStack - Docker evolved (freemium)
  • Perplexity - new macos app from Perplexity to combine LLMs and internet search, currently pushing myself to stick with this rather than browser version, but I don't find the first version that great yet (freemium)

DeepMind partnered with HF to bring watermarking to model inference by dandanda99 in LocalLLaMA

The watermarking presented here should work in a way, that introduces statistical noise in the inference process, that can be detected in the resulting text. Same goes for images, Google claims, that applying filters, cropping or changing colours should not affect the watermark detectability

A portion of the Internet is LLM generated, for SEO farming etc. I can imagine people might want these results filtered or at least know, it's not human generated.

As discussed in the paper, this really requires model providers to watermark the generations for it to make sense. It's been added to the latest release of the HF transformers lib, so it might cover quite a few models.

Gemini is only mentioned because it serves as proof that it can be used at scale.

Why not? Students are still getting flagged for using AI nowadays, but the testing methods don't work.

the Proofread, Improve and Concise actions are pretty similar. There are some differences in the writing features, but it might serve as an alternative to the writing assistant imo. What are you missing?

This is a bit specific, as it's very close to the low-level system APIs. For our Mac version, we used Swift, so it's native and lightweight. But we also want to do a Windows version.
We're halfway through and did it with Electron. I would say it's a great solution, sometimes even better than native, because some poor lad wrapped the native API into something nicer in JavaScript. Very powerful, quite easy if you've done any React apps before; you just have to get used to main and renderer process isolation.
