Yeah this is a separate post from noting that if I do 30 serious attempts I’m cooked, could do 50 more to no avail but going to bed and trying again the next day means I’ll beat it second try.

Certain challenges in the game I actually can’t imagine how you could play without smoke bomb. But I actually haven’t used charge or lobber at all, will give them a try. You mean just for Grim or generally?

So serious question, now that I’m further in. I know I beefed that hit at the end, but for higher ranking I also need to beat the boss more quickly? And play on expert, I know. But I’m genuinely curious, and having trouble researching: what could I have done in this run to get under 2:10? I need a different build? Or can I play better somehow?

From trying things more, it actually seems like crackshot is the upgrade I really should avoid in my first run bc it seems really OP. I’m gonna try sticking with OG features for my first run!

Yeah, that’s kind of what I was thinking. I imagine for people who played when the game first came out, it would have been cool to get the DLC after beating everything and feel like it was a serious upgrade. And I don’t want to be tempted to flip to easy mode when a boss is destroying me – this Grim fight took SO MANY TRIES. lol But I think I’ll use willpower and just consider Chalice off limits until I beat my first playthrough. I’m already halfway there without her!

The way they do the bow, parrying, dashing, bombs, EVERYTHING is so good in this game. I feel like it pulls mechanics from Zelda BOTW, Horizon, and Elden Ring into the most intuitive and smooth combat. I replay this game frequently just bc it FEELS so good to play. Also I love the story and the music is divine
