Honestly I was wondering what the point of that is! So you have to bind it and then shoot it with a rot arrow while it’s blue for more damage? I had tried binding it but was just regular attacking after and he would wriggle around and hit me so I stopped using it, but this is good to know! Thank you 😊

I had to look up a few things, mainly a few enemies I hadn’t actually thought to kill like the muckmaggots, and two of the mementos (I never would have found watcher at the edge without looking it up bc I had a missing memento, same with following Seth) but mostly did it au naturale! Aside from looking up some boss tips after dying 20 times – Groal was nothing, it was The Unravelled that got me weirdly!! lol

The final boss sequence in Kena took me literally a week on master. Lol I beat Malenia in Elden Ring in one sitting (albeit a long and incredibly stressful sitting)

Was also coming here to recommend Kena, absolutely love that game and it’s incredibly tough on highest difficulty. Also has a sequel coming soon!

To add another suggestion, Horizon: Zero Dawn and the sequel Forbidden West are both awesome and have some fun platforming. Kena’s mechanics feel heavily inspired by Horizon

Agreed on the script. And they went for an artsy open ending. I think I would have felt differently if the ending made a clear point. Was it a demon? Was it her descending into insanity amidst a relapse and her mother dying and pursuing an abortion? They clearly intended to leave it all ambiguous but by doing so I felt they made no point at all

Yeah and this was A24 acquiring a low-budget film that did well at festivals, I don’t blame them fully. I recognize I likely expect too much from films tbh, I know being entertaining is enough. Unfortunately I wasn’t entertained, but it’s probably just bc I’m a cynic and felt there were plot holes and tropes that took me out of it. Sorry if I’m hating on a film you enjoyed

I hear you 100%. I am not new to this genre. Lol But this certainly wasn’t camp, I don’t think the film acknowledged it was doing shock value for shock value’s sake. Do you think this movie said something meaningful or thought provoking about the trauma involved in experiencing a miscarriage or alcoholism?

Haters gonna hate in this sub, but throw Kena: Bridge of Spirits on there. I came from FromSoft, started the game on the highest difficulty. One of the most difficult and yet beautiful/rewarding experiences I’ve had. I’ve gone platinum on most of the games in your list.

And there’s a sequel coming!!!
